I'll never forget growing up in NY several years ago, when my grandma brought home some Oliver Samuels videos she found at some Jamaican food store. It was by pure accident that she found those videos for sale. Well, that night we laughed so hard, I thought I would burst in two! That airport skit - I laughed, I cried, I almost peed my pants!

MY FAVORITE was when he was a fake dreadlocks rasta, invited to dinner by his sophisticated uptown girlfriend. *The chorus he sang professing his love:* 🎶 *Mah likkle Donna! Good question. But I'm not sure this generation of "comedians" (and "comediats") want to be mentored by an Oliver Samuels. What I see them putting out now as comedy is far flung from the calibre of Oliver, Miss Lou, Joan Andrea Hutchinson, Blakka and Bello, Dorothy Cumningham, Chris Daley, Volier Johnson, Erica Brown, Dion Silvera, Glen Campbell, and the list goes on. Jamaica has changed and what used to be offensive and inappropriate language and conduct is now "comedy". Sigh!
