Strongly recommend both reading the book but also looking at some of the other longar interviews with Rob Delaney both beautiful and moving. They help you understand & process the loss of a loved one, but also how to talk to friends family colleagues going through this nightmare. The is warm tender funny sad but more than anything a gift. It gives an insight into a families absolute love for their little boy. Can't praise the book highly enough.

Thank you Rob Delaney for your willingness to share - you validated so many of my feelings and what I'm going through after the losing my own son. Misery loves company!

I watched this originally, now a year and 9 month ago. Yesterday I lost my mother to a 3 week cancer battle. So I'm watching it again. Losing a very long child and losing a parents are very different, but the feeling of grief is universal. I just can't appreciate Rob being open and honest with grief. The way Gayle reacted, and the way Rob responded, people dealing with loss appreciated all of the "I'm so sorrys" and everything, genuinely we do. But the honest response is so appreciated to just have a moment with another human is so wonderful and sad and real.

It means a lot to me to have him be this open and have this conversation.
