I'm a teacher myself and when I first started teaching I used to tell myself it's just like acting to calm my nerves, no need to do so anymore but I feel like you can draw some interesting parallels between the two careers sometimes.

There are a bizarre number of comedians who used to be either teachers or medical professionals. Greg was a drama teacher. Romesh was a maths teacher. Harry Hill was a surgeon. Jo Brand was a nurse in a psychiatric hospital.

I’m always confused by Greg insulting rap music. Are there other genres of music that don’t have a history of homophobia? Country? heavy metal? Why does single out rap music? I’m betting that you couldn’t find a single person of color on the Taskmaster production crew.

He didn’t “single out” rap music. Rap music was the topic of conversation. He was literally singing a rap about a homosexual relationship. I’m sure he would have said the same if he had written a heavy metal song about a homosexual relationship...but he wrote a rap. Rap music has been aggressively homophobic right up to the modern day where you have one of the worlds most popular rappers right now (DaBaby) making homophobic comments during his performance at a festival in July this year. It’s hardly an unfair observation that he pulled out of nowhere. Also a lot more rap music makes it into pop culture and to top 100 charts than country or heavy metal so that’s what permeates the public conscious.

Rap music, much more than the others you mention, have heavily homophobic tropes. You also make a comment about POC on the production crew. That is your assumption and absolute nonsense. This has to be one of the most diverse shows out at the moment. Every season has a mix racial backgrounds and make/female ratio. But what makes me really laugh out loud at your faux outrage, is that Greg has been a fan or rap since the 80's. One of his favourites being BooYaa Tribe, who he has memorised the lyrics of. You'll have to look for your faux racial outrage somewhere else. You struck one on this one in a hilarious way.

If you think it's insulting, I would like to compare it to someone being offended when a countries past actions are brought up (racism slavery etc), some people are for sure insulting the country (which is dumb) but most people are more likely pointing out that that past shouldn't exist anymore, it should not be something you link to the identity of the country (in this case music) where criticism becomes insults.
