I think by focusing on Greg we miss the true savage here: Little Alex Horne, preparing his book of "only 148" texts, knowing he's going to devastate Joe, snitching on all the contestants. He's the real monster
@buggyboogle9 Жыл бұрын
Yes. In the episode, where in the prize category, Rhod had brought as one of the “worst gifts ever received,” that tree-like ornament, which had been gifted to him by his wife and which prior to that had been gifted to Rhod’s wife by Greg, there was a savage Alex moment. Jessica Knappet had won the prize category and at the end of the show, she is seen posing with the various prizes and she jokingly threatens to drop the ornament. Both Rhod and Greg look aghast and jump up to stop her, but she had also looked at Alex, the power behind the throne. Alex gave a small nod, and she dropped it! To the real dismay and shock of Rhod and Greg, who ends the show, saying he can’t believe she did that. The ornament was subsequently repaired and glued together by the production team but that destruction was all at the hands of Alex.
@FLESKFIST Жыл бұрын
That's the format. In order for Alex to torment and humiliate the contestants as he does, he has to make sure he doesn't be seen as a malicious bully. So, he camoflages himself as a servant to Greg.

Not quite, the fact that it isn't completely random and unfair makes it much more powerful. Joe's potato toss is a tragic miscarriage of justice especially because Joe never *actually* touched the red green. When you look at the shot from when he's actually doing the task, his shoe is clearly still only contacting the concrete. At best the tip of his shoe is maybe overhanging the red green a tiny amount. More than anything it's the overhead camera angle that makes it look like he's on it. Justice for Joe
@Elwaves2925 Жыл бұрын
Oh dear, here we go again. 😁 It's a little more than just the tip, at least three toe ends are over the green, maybe the big toe too. It's not a lot but it's enough. If those toes were overhanging as you claim, there would be more shadow visible. Even if it was overhanging, as soon as he leans forward to take the shot, which he clearly does in the first clip, his weight would transfer to those toes meaning they had to be touching the green. It's unavoidable. The angle used is likely because it's the only one that showed it clearly enough but it doesn't disaprove anything. That's not even accounting for Alex's POV or that of any of the many crew members all there watching him throw. I wanted to Joe to get the points in spite of this but it wasn't to be. The facts back up the decision that he touched the green.
@Beefyrulz Жыл бұрын
@@Elwaves2925 You can clearly see Joe's shoes earlier in the task or any other, they curl up on the front. When he walks, his heel leaves the ground before the front of his shoe rolls downward and contacts the floor. Meaning while standing flat, the tip of his shoe is still curled upward and away from the ground. When he throws the potato, his heel never leaves the ground meaning he's putting the weight more on the front pad of his foot but still the whole base of the foot nonetheless, not his toes. Which means his shoes would've still be overhanging the red green but not touching. Justice for Joe
@robertcampbell8070 Жыл бұрын

I've always subscribed to what I call the winkle-picker defence, but I wonder would the task be so legendary if the decision was very clearly one way or the other? Maybe not being 100% on it makes it more exciting, as well as rooting for the adorable "please don't take this away from me". I expected Alex to do his due diligence and get the shoes, show them in the studio the same distance over the red, and for him to conclusively demonstrate whether or not the shoe actually made meaningful contact with the red; I'm very surprised Alex let us down here!
@Elwaves2925 Жыл бұрын
