Back in the 60s my mom taught me to always have my own money just in case things don't work out, and I have taught my girls this. I agree with a previous post stay home, and cook your kids food. As a member of the grown women's committee since I was 17 with a child, I approve this message. As a responsible woman, I didn't date much, kid comes first. When I did, he was taken care of prior to going out. If I wanted to bring him something back, I ordered and paid for it, unless the date insisted. If he paid for it, I made sure to say thank you because he didn't have to. If the date called me and forewarned me he would be late, I would wait up to 15 minutes. After that, I can't wait longer, I have to get back to my kid, we can plan another time, maybe. I never went anywhere without having funds to pay for my own meal and a way to return home. I never insisted what a guy was going to do. His actions would tell me if I should continue or not. If I was broke, I didn't go out. I conserved that money for necessities.
