I'm not from Essex, never lived there and I'm from further west in East London, but this song reminds me of home. Living in the north-west, hearing this reminds me of a place I spent a lot of my early and mid-20s in, though, buzzing between Romford and Camden most weekends. The best chippy line refers to when it was run by Chris Kafouris and his family. They owned it from about 1974 onwards for many years. Chris sold out to 'Fish n Chick'n' and then bought it back again a few years later. I'm sure it is still very good but I don't live there anymore.
