I was around then. People talked about the Regan charm, his charisma, how we were seduced by him. I never saw it. His voice was creepy and he always seemed like a mummified cadaver. In retrospect, it became clear that he was sliding into dementia while still in office and that Nancy and Gorge H W Bush were really running the show. Regardless, he was the one to begin the third worldification of the USA.
