My family and I met Carl Payne at a movie theater in Philadelphia i the middle of the day back in the early 2000’s. I had my four kids and my friends two kids. He was alone from what I could tell. I introduced myself and my kids. Then asked him what was he doing in Philadelphia. He was doin a play. He was calm and accommodating. He could have easily been annoyed with me for interrupting his “me” time, but he was chill. I respect him for that. He was a real person and I appreciated that. I wish well.

Coach roach is one of the most memorable characters for me. I loved that time when coach roach stood in his math class. Mrs. Westlakes math class. And at the end of the show she asked him why and he said “it wasn’t your class, it just wasn’t your class.” Iconic scene imo.
@Carolina_girl864 жыл бұрын
Then she said "Bye Walter, I mean Cockroach". That was her 1st time ever calling him Cockroach cuz she was so stern w/ her students and would call them by their real names I guess. I always thought that scene was so sweet when he was in the hospital room to see her after she had her baby, the way she said bye to him at the end and she was probably happy she wouldn't have to see any of them for the next 6 weeks or however long while she was on maternity leave, lol, so she relaxed her standards and called him Cockroach.

He's a fine actor and his role on Cosby show was memorable. Glad he stuck with it and got the part. Liked him more in that role than bumbling Cole on "Martin". More importantly, he comes across as a down to earth guy. I think the name “cockroach” for a nickname was VERY stupid! They could’ve called him so many other different names besides that. Surprised Cosby went for such a dumb nickname for his son’s friend.

latymz he also was late to the set a lot, and you know Mr Cosby wasn’t having that! He had high expectations for his actors! Of course the last discussion wasn’t that good, but Carl needs to own up to his behavior also! There are 2 sides to every story! That woman who settled with Cosby for 3 million dollars shouldn’t have been able to come back with criminal charges! Harvey Weinstein is paying off all of his accusers and will probably never go to prison, because he is white! People wake up about this so called justice system!
@thespadestable5 жыл бұрын
@@christian_person5058 - This situation has nothing to do with that woman nor Cosby being not being White; it has more to do with Cosby and Gloria Allred. Allred tried to shake Cosby down and he refused her demands. The more women she brought forth as a way to play her hand, Cosby kept refusing. Don't forget Allred first came out and said the women coming out was not about money, then turned around and said Cosby needed to set up a $100m fund for the victims. Also, all of the original accusers were being represented by Allred and most of the victims lived in California. Allred law practice is established in California. Also if you remember, Hannibal Buress told that "Bill Cosby Raping Women" joke while on stage in Philadelphia. Out of all his material, and out of all of his stand up performances, that one joke went viral. It was all a plan by Allred, which included the assistance of Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele to shake down Cosby. With DA Steele his ego and reputation was on the line when Cosby first trial first ended in a hung jury, so he had to come out swinging hard to get a conviction which is why he used the Andrea Constand $3.38m settlement to his advantage. Lastly, why did the 2 Black jurors (one man and one woman) cast a guilty against Cosby? For Blacks to love and make claims of racial injustice in the court system, their 2 no votes would have acquitted Cosby, but I guess since they were outnumbered, they had to appease the White jurors, but had it been reverse I doubt they would have caved to the pressure of being around an mostly Black jury to put in prison a famous White actor in prison? So please, save the "White People" nonsense, because it's Blacks who put Cosby in prison, not White people!

I applause Carl Payne because he struggle just like any average person who is trying to make end meets. He doesn't get into drugs, doesn't commit a crime and he doesn't let Hollywood change him. He's a humble guy who keeps his nose or business away from problems and just go his merry way of life. Behind all the glitz, glamour, wealth and fame of Hollywood or the tv, films industry, not everybody who audition and makes it and if they do, they should never expect the people they work around with are all angels because that's where you will found the most people with the dirtiest laundry or secrets in their closets. Generally, in the world of business, never take in the people that you work for, with, to or alongside as family because everybody in business is there for one major reason and it's to make money above all else!
