I don't they're acting when they're laughing. I think their laughter is for real.

I came on to hear people's thoughts on this but for me this was an outtakes that they could never get right because neither could keep a straight face. I reckon they just kept it in, the alternative being 1,000 takes...

If you look closely Ted is actually turning the water OFF!! So much for not leaving him without water for Christmas! :-)

The Fast Show Christmas Special aired in 1996. The Ted and Ralph Christmas sketch must had been filmed in Winter 1995/1996.

The toff and his Irish sidekick was always an ambiguous skit. There's some dispute as to whether Ted is a sort of surrogate Dad, or the object of Ralph's "affection". Theories?
@raminybhatti57406 жыл бұрын
Taco Bell I think the "Queen" line in this sketch hints at the latter, perhaps.
@sanjaseganpopadic61316 жыл бұрын
It's probably the former, but it is sad to think so somehow, so the writers are giving an alternate underlined story. They are both lonely
@markchambers38334 жыл бұрын
They share a post-coital cigarette in another sketch (think it might be from this episode but not 100% sure).
@kjb8321 Жыл бұрын
2:30 MUST be an outtake that was kept in the final cut, it's just too natural and funny to be acting (even though these 2 are brilliant)
@cheyennebrennan966 Жыл бұрын
I think that was scripted, and the scene was going to end with Ralph trying not to laugh. But Paul kept improvising and cracked Charlie up, so they just carried on filming: Two old mates having a giggle over something so silly - what better way to celebrate Christmas? 😊😊❤❤

I always thought that Ted and Ralph is a lonely man's way of trying to talk to the family dog house pet or perhaps even an inanimate object. Ted can only do so much he has only so many instructions and constantly he is asked to do something else which he is unable to do...that's my two cents. I feel that there is no human aspect to the character just very one-dimensional much like an animal might be or definitely a chandelier etc. About loneliness connection and disconnection

This would have been so much better without the laughter track
