I didn't watch this nest this season, but I'm crying like a baby. Condolences to all who did. It was a tragic season/year in so many ways, but also a redemptive one in others. It's hard being a bird, esp at the top of the food/poison chain and all the other hazards we hoomans create. What a peaceful nest, such buddies, I sure should have watched! There's so much promise, whole worlds of possibilities, in those white or whatever ovals. Or pregnancies. So that much is lost when things don't work out, all the possible worlds gone in a flash. Enjoy the Rainbow Bridge, you two, and soar in the endless skies of all those possibilities. Here's to next season, and I will surely watch this wonderful couple and hope they, and everyone, find redemption in it! ❤️🦅🦅🌈

I did not follow the Reading nest closely just checked in from time to time, but what a strong sibling bond, so absolutely adorable the eaglet in the Dechora North nest Have a similar bond. Their nest fell out of the tree on Sunday. Thank God they fledged last week and they were awake as a nest fell in the morning. it was sketchy with one of them but everything worked out good so far as I know Everything happens so fast whether it’s our world or theirs ❤️🦅

What a beautiful tribute, thank you for putting it together! This nest is one of 3 main nests that I follow, although I found several others this year. Liberty is a special mama and Guardian is a great papa. I remember checking in everyday trying to sneak a peek at the eggs in the deep nest bowl. First was the loss of one of the eggs, Then came Luna and next Sol. I participated in the naming contest of these sweet eaglets and Luna and Sol had my vote. Watching these two grow into beautiful eaglets warmed my heart. I would check in on little Sol and His antics made me smile, going under and between Guardians legs for food, even though both parents did a great job at making sure their babies were fed. Sol and Luna developed a beautiful bond with their parents always watching over. Fly High and soar free together you two. My heart goes out to the entire FORE team and all other followers of this nest. 🌈 🦅🦅

Beautiful moving video and if your trying not to cry you will not be able to hold tears back at all.such a beautiful family with unfortunately heartbreak in it. Ive been watching many nest that did well while others suffered this one my knowledge is not very good but i have heard of liberty and guardian.i saw Luna at what appeared to be a pond I think in a video and looked like she was doing well recently.sol...my gosh what can I say like others this year not having a chance at leaving this nest going on his adventure in life and taken away too soon and not knowing what happen to him but feeling very sorry for what did happen to him and crying over it.i am very sorry this happen to this family,very very sorry but the Lord is taking good care of him and the others we lost from nest this year as they all are flying together.thank you very much for this beautiful video again, yes it is sad to see it knowing one of the babies is gone but we can all cherish the memories of this family we had this year as well.

So so sad . To have even just one pass and now both . This year has been so devastating with all the losses , falling out of nest . Etc . There has to be something better we can do and do so when we see the eagles not feeling good we get up there and get them and help . This I know is part of the circle of life . However I find it insane that we can’t help . I watched poor sol suffer and take his last breaths and the tears just kept coming . As I’m sure with everyone . Rip sol and Luna. .im positive they are flying high together and playing .

I am so devastating by this. Sol dying was terrible, and I told myself that Luna would make it, even though I thought that her chance was greatly demished. I hoped as we all did. I loved them so much! Now we hope the parents can go on maybe next year things will improve. I have to ask was their intrusion into this area that distressed the parents or drought killed prey or fish. Was the health of the river in jeopardy? Well I for one and all of us here will not forget these beautiful young eagles 😢❤!

I was getting worried as we continued to not see Luna on cam at all. I know they had that ground sighting on Saturday, but I still just had a bad feeling. I never want to be the negative ninny, so I shut up about it & hoped for the best as well. This is just so sad.

Is it possible that eagles can (but not always of course) bond in a similar way to cats and the loss of Sol was too much for Luna? Can there be bonded eaglet siblings? I've seen some incredible bonds between eagle siblings and have often wondered how their lives play out before adulthood. E17 and E18 in particular come to mind as well as DN17 and DN18.

That's a topic that seems to be debated. I personally feel like we've absolutely seen eaglet siblings bond in varying degrees while on the nest, but I also don't believe I've ever heard of siblings maintaining a bond after they have permanently left the nest. Don't get me wrong - I'm the type of person who thinks it's kind of foolish to use words like "always" or "never" when talking about wildlife. We do not have 24/7 lifetime views of any free-living wildlife, so we cannot ever say we know this or that has NEVER happened, but I don't think their instinct-driven patterns find a need to maintain that bond beyond the early, nest days. I don't think that Luna could have passed from any sort of sadness or loss associated with Sol, but I'd never be so arrogant to try to rule out or predict things beyond my understanding.

We don't know yet. She was last seen by the ground crew on Sunday and seemed to be thriving, but then there was no sight of her after that, so Terri and her husband got permission to go and look for her. They found her by the river, under the tree that Liberty often perches on.... and she had passed. There will be tests done to determine the cause. I'm wondering if, even though she had made it down to the river, it may still have been related to the heat and dehydration as it seemed to be with Sol. I couldn't be more shocked or heartbroken..... 😭

@@qtpi_ontario Having the camera go down at such a critical time was certainly a factor, because it left us in the dark as to how the eaglets were doing during the time that Luna fledged, and while it was so hot. We don't know if they were getting enough food to keep them hydrated, for instance. But you are right, there have to too many tragedies! Yet for a variety of reasons in each case. I wish we could prevent any and all problems and keep them all safe always! 🙏

Too bad, the reporting is unfortunately inadequate. Very few people know what really happened after watching the video. What were the reasons? But perhaps there will be another video from Lady Hawk, one of the few who write comprehensible reports on their videos.

I’m sure the author doesn’t appreciate the snarky comment. NO ONE actually knows at this point. This is a tribute video. There will be updates after the necropsy report finds the cause of death for Luna. Everything is pure speculation and opinion at this point. And given both died at an advanced age one has to wonder if the hypothesis about heat and dehydration is accurate for Sol. We all need answers, that is for sure.

Human hands altered the nest via interseasonal rehab. This was announced as their last season of FORE coverage and how fitting that removing Top Cover never crossed their minds but that sure knew a lot about EAGLE life. And don't bring rules and regs into the equation. Expensive upgrades for entertainment then say "GOOD BYE"? Shame on you a Non-Profit Org.

That tree has been DEAD ZFOR YEARS,and the rehab was tantamount in destroying 2 beautiful creatures. They couldn't intervene for idiotic reasons but they could mess up their home.
