Comfy donut recovery collar/pet cone alternative tutorial!

Just brought my little baby boy from getting neutered. I wish this was told to me as an option besides those awful hard plastic cones. So glad this appeared on my algorithm! Much 💖

Great video and easy to understand, this is just what I needed! I had to make one out of the softer pool noodles with a string (or large collar) through the middle but she isn't happy with it. I think that will be be more comfortable if I can pull it off. Unfortunately I don't have a sewing machine (and it wouldn't do me much good if I did, lol. I always tangle them up!) so I'll have to do it by hand.

My family cat Ladybug got fleas. she’s indoor but my sibling was visiting with their cat and he goes on leashed walks. she is getting bald spots from itching, and licking, she’s a bit of a clean freak so I think the flea dust bothers her. she is almost done with treatment but I wanted her to stop licking/ itching for a little to heal and this tutorial was super helpful in making her a quick collar that wasn’t the paper plate method

Does it prevent the cat from reaching his back leg? Our Teddie has an injury and he somehow managed to reach the hind legs with plastic cone on by bending fully. Would this prevent him reaching the back legs?

If you increase the radius of the donut I think it would make sure Teddy doesn’t reach his back legs, so make sure the donut is wide enough that he couldn’t get past it with his snout 😊 Fern wasn’t able to reach back there with hers on, but of course a dog may have a bigger snout!

Hi there! The stuffing I used was quilt batting that I cut into small pieces, but any lightweight stuffing will work for this! Hope that helps 😊

Mine was 3.5x12 inches, it will depend a bit on the cat’s neck (my cats neck measurement was 12 inches). Hope that helps! 😊

Thank you so very much. I ended up making the one for our kitty 14”. He’s a big boy. When we took the cone off of him and replaced it with the donut he was so relieved and grateful. His whole body visibly relaxed and he was finally able to lie down and sleep peacefully. We’re hoping to be able to remove it tomorrow after his vet visit, but I’m not sure that he isn’t going to miss his comfy pillow. 😁 Happy holidays and take care, Gina Solomko

I actually sped it up to 1.25, as I do most tutorials or recipes. Bothering the YTer with speed issues when its right there for u to change to yr language specs is kinda a time-waster, esp as it's helpful free advice. 🤦
