This is the most realistic reason why supervillains have so many hench men. Whenever they break out, the rest do, too.
@theadmingamer6826 ай бұрын
Not only that, it’s the same employment pool the goons get to choose from so they know who they prefer to work under. And if they’re not a fan of their old boss, they get to experiment with a new boss. Only con is it’s really hard to unionize when the villains can just wipe out the Union before/after they escape the prison.
@redstonecasey47136 ай бұрын
Counterpoint: any reasonably clever supervillain will realize that it’s in their best interest to offer better benefits and job security than the rest of the megalomaniacs. Henchmen, while seemingly plentiful, are a limited commodity: there’s not THAT many job applicants willing to work for a costumed criminal, take a Bat-Punch to the jaw, or work in a field where “dropped into a pit of sharks” is a known workplace hazard. If they get to decide what villain they work for, they’ll naturally migrate to whoever is least likely to murder them, and whoever offers the best incentives/snazziest uniforms.
@desadograisedrobot5156 ай бұрын
@@theadmingamer682 But then the boss can't get new goons since they would not risk being wiped out. Better for everyone there to play relatively nice.

Brilliant strategy right up until one of those supervillains decides to recruit you and supply you with all the bears.

Counterpoint: Wouldn't said Supervillain be afraid of having hundreds of bears suddenly attack them? Like the dude said, it's just not worth the risk to try

@@HugeHaddock If you were a supervillain with plans that could be aided by using bears wouldn't you recruit the guy who has the power to control bears?

One "Super-Prison" I believe to be an actually successful prison is Curdun Cay from the Infamous series. The only convicts that did technically escape only did so because they were specifically transported in convoy far away from the facility. Also, spoilers for Infamous: Second Son The convoy wasn't even supposed to contain the people in it, but to actually let them escape, so... It might be the most effective prison for super-powered individuals in fiction (please don't kill me for missing other prisons)

On the opposite end of the spectrum lies Arkum Asylum, whose villains escape every five goddamn minutes like there wasn't any security or doors in the first place.

Honestly, for me this would fall under the category of 'so ingenious it demands respect'. The man's basically come up with an almost foolproof dodge - unless, of course, there's some sort of emergency involving bears, and the warden's like 'you know, we have a guy in here who could probably handle this...'

I wish I actually could control bears. Though tbh I'd just use it to get away with rubbing the ultimate belly, booping forbidden snoots, scritching behind friend shaped ears, and getting some literal bear hugs.

This brings up the question of why he goes to super jail if his power is just to control bears. Are there a lot of bears running around in regular jail?
@wind64a396 ай бұрын
Too many Supers to bother sorting them that way.

It’s likely that all metas get sent to super jail, not worth case by case checking for if the power would help them get out of normal jail. A lot of abilities also come with some level of superhuman endurance/strength even if it isn’t mentioned as a specific power of theirs.

It would also depend on how far a range his fake powers would work. If its a psychic thing, is it miles away? is it 5 feet away? As he said, its not something that his captors would wanna test out. So they have to assume for safety reasons that any Zoo a few miles away from the Prison he could control. Aquaman can actually talk to fish and other aquamarine animals Miles away too. They usually have to use some kind of Mind shield dampener on him if they wanna imprison him or put him in a special room. You think a normal Jail would wanna make an exception for him? Sounds expensive. Send him to Super jail then. Also we don't know where they live. Canada? Near a forest? It doesnt have to be a Zoo, could just be forest nearby with natural Bears.

Consider this, super powered individuals have been known to grow more powerful and even improve their powers to the point they become almost entirely different powers. One day he's a guy who controls bears. The next he can turn into a bear or control bear like animals.

Your voice is so damn adorable I swear there’s nothing in this world to compare it to it’s lovely nature. It’s comparable to what I imagine what an actual angel sounds like or if a biblically accurate angel had to communicate to a human they would use something like this gentle and beautiful hymn of a voice
