Optimus is just not at all surprised with anything Megatron throws at him at this point, he's just annoyed, tired and just want's this meaningless war to end quicker, but noooooo, Megatron's dumbass back at Cybertron woke up one morning and decided to start a civil war, Prime-verse Optimus must have been at the point of turning into Murdermus Prime and killing and ripping off all of the discerptions' faces off and putting each one on a wall and baring and ax into Megatron's face.

By Season 2, Optimus was _done._ He still was willing to do things like accept surrenders, talk things out and offer second chances to cons he respected, but with Megatron? No, he’s had _way_ too many chances to turn things around even _before_ he shot and almost killed Raf. After that, Optimus stopped caring about trying to resolve things with Megatron peacefully. If the opportunity was ever there and Megatron gave up, that would be one thing, but if Megatron kept refusing to change, then _Megatron had to die._
