I buy books to do trades, so I suspect that I am not really much of a speculator. Sometimes I research a book, but I already have a 9 to 5 career. I don't need two. Others have said "buy what you like", and frankly; I think that advice is the most sound to give.

Just as a reminder to people new to/thinking of getting into selling comics.... Rarity and value are mutually exclusive and have NOTHING to do with each other nine times out of ten. There are FAR more important factors to take into consideration to increase your ROI (Return on Investment), and I, personally, feel RESEARCH is the biggest one.... And doesn't cost you a penny.

If you are just getting into new comic book speculation today, please understand that people have been doing this for decades. You will not be better than them. Buy what you enjoy reading, and perhaps some of that will become worth money one day. Other than that, you are only going to fall prey to a host of greedy companies and opportunists. Flipping modern books is called arbitrage. Understand what that means before you participate in it. Collecting older or vintage books might possibly yield a profit if you are smarter than 90 percent of other collectors, but that at least can be done.

i post regularly on political sites. KZbin seems like it really has gone nuts with shadow banning post Oct 7. What I do is post, make an edit, wait 21 seconds to repost. If you see a red error message that post disappeared. It's been shadow banned. Sometimes your post may pass that test too. To really be sure if your posts are being SBd you'll need to log out and check to see if your post is still there. If you want your post to stick you'll have to play around with word spellings. Misspell them, put !@& between letters. Try diff words with the same meaning. It's playing the game!!...

Of course, I don't know him personally, but he seems to be a very knowledgeable guy, and he posts VERY regularly in MANY groups. Like you said, I don't always agree with him, and I am not a big fan of the "speculation" side of collecting (it is about as easy and accurate as picking stocks based on what you hear on Motley Fool, for example, but it is never going to go away), but I think the majority of his posts provide good insight for both new and veteran collectors.
