Does Pakistan lack talent for Cricket? I think the answer to this is more about the approach and process of finding and honing this talent. I believe we have untapped talent, but the current state of affairs in PCB limit their discovery. 1. We don't have department cricket that we had before - this is so important because cricket players were able to earn a living to justify continuing to play cricket as a job. Now with these departments being closed and moved to provincial cricket, you reduce the pool of talent that is available 2. The cricket scouts are limited to major cities and big clubs and not trying to go deeper into finding talent 3. Our PCB "experts" lack vision of what cricket means in this day and age and hence cannot train players properly 4. The mental aspects of being a sportsperson are missing in our trainings and this has a huge impact on how we function as a team 5. Consistency is also lacking in our way of working in PCB and keeping the team together for a mid to long term revival. Every player knows that to survive they need only one big performance and they're in and if they make one mistaek they are out - there is no investment in trying to improve these players and letting them know that we have their back for a longer period of time. Khair, at the end of the day, Allah Maalik hai.
