Hey Rob, I’ve never commented on one of your videos before but I’m compelled to now. Firstly I’d like to say I’m so sorry for your loss, words cannot express the feeling of losing a true friend and I know there’s not much solace in any condolence I can relay. That said, I wanted to express my gratitude. For many years I struggled through the rigors of medical school and residency and all of the extreme highs and lows that accompany those long hours filled with painful doubt and anxiety among other emotions. Your videos however, brought me laughter, happiness, a feeling of comfort and many other things during those hard years. Your videos kept me strong and determined. I would turn them on in the background and listen to them for hours and hours. So for all that you’ve done for me, it seems only fair I express my undying gratitude. I don’t know you personally, but I am who I am today and have achieved what I have in no small part thanks to you and your channel. So thank you. I am truly heartbroken for you and I just hope you know that how you were there for me those years, we are here for you. “Life doesn’t give us purpose, we give life purpose” -Barry Allen. Thank you Rob.

For the first time (even though having never read this in person) a comic has made me cry. Your telling of this story and with your recent life event still on my mind just made it all so real. I couldnt help but start crying starting at the Mary J section. The one thing that all humanity needs is to see it self in a life where we no longer matter because the picture/scale is so vast, that our petty squabbles mean nothing. Thank you for this video. Though the story has been covered, I never grow tired of hearing it. Truly one of the best stories to come out of Marvel and always well told by Rob. Managed to get my hardcover copy of Silver Surfer: Requiem signed and sketched by Esad Ribic himself. Still looking for Straczynski.
@norrinradd19706 ай бұрын
The reason that this story is so beautiful is because it's very personal. Joe Straczynski wrote this story as a eulogy to his long-term friend Andreas Katsulas who passed away from cancer back in February 2006. Andreas played the alien ambassador G'Kar on the sci-fi TV show Babylon 5 which Straczynski created. This was his way of eulogizing his friend. This was a very good story to cover. Rest in peace, Benny.❤
