"Killing" the main trio has to be the lamest thing they could've done for an event. Didn't they have Batman being killed be a gimmick for many stories 13~ years ago? Superman's death was a huge gimmick in the 90's. Hell, Wonder Woman just came back from the dead. "How can we attract readers to our new Event comic series? Kill some well known heroes! People will totally believe it & feel so much suspense from it!" They are literally running in circles trying to find something interesting to attract people to their millionth multiversal-crisis event comic. _Also: Why kill Green Arrow?_

They had to add romance drama too for those viewers. Often appears to be either be Ollie or Dinah to get killed off in events unless they have another supercouple to mess with. One story had Ollie die and Dinah reunite with a Green Arrow of another reality, and the tv series i think killed Dinah off twice

It wasn't even 13 years ago if you're including elseworld stories. They just killed him off in DC vampires, which was a mess in its own. Especially considering their ass pull of a twist where Nightwing was the villain all along.

@@kcpugh5601 That Vampire Event sounded pretty dumb when I first heard about it but Jesus. Luckily it's just an Elseworlds story where they can kill of whoever they feel like & that character can _actually_ stay dead. Still, that twist with Nightwing sounds pretty dumb.

@@jommyheyman1180 It was a cool idea, but the execution was just bonkers, and not in the fun way. They don't establish any character consistency, any background consistency, and their own rules about whether your personality changes after you become a vampire changed from issue to issue. Like with Nightwing, in the main line he was just evil and killed with glee, but in the robin tie in he was suddenly remorseful?? I mean I'm glad that the villain wasn't just, the Joker again, but they basically made the Bat family the main characters and then killed most of them off. So the perma death thing worked against them since they didn't establish their other main characters enough. I didn't think I disliked it as much as I did until after typing out this essay lol.

Most don't lol, very few characters actually stay dead *dead* especially if they're a popular character, I felt Superman story in the early 90's did it the best then it just became a gimmicky trend with characters afterwards in comics. That's true about new writers always changing things with characters, though there's also a lot of times where there isn't a reboot necessary in DC and Marvel where they'll bring characters back from the dead as well.

It was originally just Death of the Justice League, I did a few google searches for big images to use on the thumbnail and saw everything related to this story said. batman is dead and featured Batman. So I just joined the pack because if thats what worked, well I gotta play the game. But I 100% agree, I'd love people can get on board with the rest of the League and it would matter to them

@@comicstorian Don't get me wrong I love Batman he's my 3rd favorite superhero ever in my top 15. Just wish everything in DC didn't have to be about him to get people to click. I understand though where you all are coming from though that it generates views. I do wish people would expand their reading material though. Naomi and Action Comics I feel have been great, my personal opinion of course.
