Worth noting for Ghost-Spider: you can use her response attack and thwart cards when you defend with her, which readies her for the next round (so you can maybe use another response card during your own turn and use the ready again). It will probably take a few plays to understand and remember how it all works.

Great video!! My friend and I played the first scenario yesterday and as we were learning, we used "Sands in the city" wrong. We were discarding encounter cards at the start of the enemy turn.

Hey Dale, played 2 campaign so far and i just laugh so loud when i saw Prowler coming out while in ALTER-EGO...sneaky bastard ALWAYS comes out while i was in alter-ego...every single game haha.

@eldharion For you it's the Prowler while in Alter-Ego, for me, it feels like I'll never get George to help with events, Spider-Gwens obligation always seems to take him out of the game. lol Good luck! :)

An eagerly anticipated encounter. It called for a stout adult beverage and some serious settling in. It did not disappoint. Clea is MVB because she is a perennial but Dugan gets the rookie card nod. The man was a Dyson when it came to sand. And they said he was overweight at 5 cost. I’m not sold on spider-boy and all that SHIELD stuff. I think he will be much better in decks yet yet to be built. Gwen, on the other hand is just lovely. It’s called Protection but man, can she wallop. Learning the ins and outs of three new decks is never easy, least of all on camera. The wheels never came off but a few lug nuts did go flying. Any landing that doesn’t fall off the carrier is a success.

Haha! Definitely a learning curve for a first play in a new campaign set ... and Dugan was key to keeping things in check! And now that I've played through the campaign, I'm not sure I got SHIELD to work to it's best potential, and the same for Ghost Spider, but I think the villains played some interference against her ... and her obligation.

The SHIELD stuff is insanity. You end up with a giant board state and can make some big power plays. I do think that building the right deck is key. For instance, I removed some of the duplicates and added in Agent Coulson and Quake, both shield agents. I wanted to put in Mockingbird, but Miles already has so many ways to stun as it is.

@@chauveet considering how much Steady is in the SM box I say mockingbird has a place. Outside of SM, Spider-Miles will be the new gold standard for stun-lock decks. Mockingbird gets included then because it’s pathological.

Looking forward to your playthroughs to get the mechanics of the villains down. The villains are the only reason I bought this expansion. I don't care about the heroes in this set as I don't know much about them. I will also be skipping the next 3 announced hero packs for the same reason. Only way I might buy them is if there are some really good aspect cards. Hopefully the next cycle will be something that interests me more (X-Men maybe?). I'll have more than enough to keep me busy this summer when (if?) my Marvel/X-Men United Kickstarter gets delivered.

@Keith Carter The villains were a driving point for me too, and like you, I'm not familiar with the hero characters in this set or the upcoming Nova and Ironheart (other than they are already allies in the game). Great video! The sandman is fun and really thematic. I just finished up venom. He gets crazy with boost cards. Very fun and intense! As far is the prowler side scheme. The accelerated token is just added to the side scheme like it was printed on the card so it won’t trigger sandman’s main scheme. This set is very good so far imo. Good stuff!

LOL a huge fan of Spiderman here, however I find it hard to enjoy using the other versions of Spiderman :( I guess I grew up with the original Blue-Red Peter Parker Spiderman and I wish they make a better version of that Spiderman and sell it as a super hero pack, on the other hand I don't mind the female versions of Spiderman.

@Daniel Stegner For cards getting shuffled I use Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves, and then for the character identity card, main villain card, and main schemes I use FFG sleeves (basically any premium sleeve that is clear on both sides). The Dragon Shield clear matte sleeves are "blurry" on one side, so not the best for dual sided cards but I love the way they feel. Hope that helps, and happy gaming!! :)

@jorneracr91 I think at the moment, defense/protection has the best selection of cards for interrupts and responses. I plan on going through the campaign with protection, instead of going with my typical aggression. :)

Where does this campaign expansion rank for you versus the others? Looking at what's included, this is the most interesting for me.

@Marty Harman Similar to you, the characters included are most interesting to me, well, the villains. I'm not too familiar with the heroes. I only have one play through the campaign, so I do need more plays against the villains in one-offs to make a good comparison, but I think the heroes are great! Even the pre-con decks are pretty good. The villains is where I may differ from many others. I prefer a "straight forward" style of game. While I like the mechanics and theme of the villains, after only 1 play against each, I felt there to be a bit more "bookkeeping" than I would prefer. That may be less of an issue after more plays though. This villain set has lots of things to track and triggers to remember (a bit much for my mind after a long day of work). So Red Skull currently is my favorite, and Galaxys Most Wanted my least (mainly due to Ronan). This one fits close by Mad Titans Shadow until I get more plays. I think if you're a Spider-Verse fan, then this set is a must. Hope that helps, and happy gaming! :)

That's...insane. Gwen is probably one of the strongest Heroes available right now. She has restricted, of course to building a lot of response and interrupt cards. That said, two potential readies each turn is a lot. George Stacey is insanely good. Her responses are well-costed and impactful. Miles is pretty much defeated by stalwart or steady.
