Every C&C song you've done on Genesis slaps so hard, man. It squeezes every last bit of juice it's willing to offer.

The Genesis sound z80 cpu has only 8kB of ram. Even using ROM space on the Cartridge you are still limited. The PCM's here are too clean but possible for the YM2612 to play. Its 8‑bit only. PCM bitrate 512kbs Sega Mega Drive: 32 kHz
@TastySnax12 Жыл бұрын
@@GodKitty677 Source? And who's to say the driver doesn't use the 68000 CPU to drive PCM?
@GodKitty677 Жыл бұрын
@@TastySnax12 The z80 sends the data. The 68000 can access the z80's memory. Doing that pauses the z80 because both can't acces the memory at the same time. In Toy Story they stream data from the 68000 and its memory to the z80's memory to send to the sound chip. This causes pauses so they had to stream it 10000's at a time. So they can't use it other than the title screen. So you double buffer the data transfer in the z80s memory. Half the 8kB is writen to by the 68000 and the z80 reads from the other half. Both can't access at the same time. So you swap once 4kB is writen by the 68000. The z80 then reads that, then to 68000 begins to write into the other 4kB until its full. 10000 bits at a time, until the 4kB is full and can be past to the z80 to send to the sound chip. So yes you can use the 68000 CPU to drive PCM with the above limitations.

Klepacki's work fits this style so damn well with the hard-hitting drums and crunchy bass. Love every C&C track you upload.

This is so close to the original in terms of certain instruments/samples as well as the overall feel; Klepacki unintentionally made music fitting for a SEGA Megadrive adaptation!

This 90's futuristic synth and those 90's pop snares sound so clean on the YM2612. It captures the futuristic war setting better and God! this slaps so good.

It's too bad RTS sucks to play on console, despite developers desperately trying to figure out how to make it work in order to get that console $$$. I guess you could make it support the Sega Mouse, but who knows how many people actually have that.
