I'm surprise that we didn't get the Stargazer. The Hathaway eh? I suppose that leaves room for the Stargazer in a future set.

I was a little surprised myself as I was also expecting the Stargazer. Like you I’m thinking we’ll see it in a future expansion. Really looking forward to this game. -Ken

The Hathaway? Dude, that's from "Peak Performance" from TNG season 2 - one of my favorite episodes! And, as a gamer, one of my favorite Star Trek quotes, when Data loses the Stratagema game and Picard has to kick him in the ass to get him to stop doubting his abilities over it: “It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness; that is life.”

In the strictest sense, Data didn't win the rematch.... He busted him up.

Had a great time at GenCon. I have hit one of my goals now with a fleet of mine talked about on command stack!!! Playing Outer Rim with you guys was awesome!! One of the funniest things was when Ken’s character, Han Solo, got a broken arm. It was just like Ken pulling structural damage.

Mad respect Ken. I have been trying to make Home One work in my own games. It's my Sysyphean Rock. I agree 100% about keeping the pickle as cheap as possible. The best fun I ever had was with 2 Mk2's running Quad Turbolaser Cannons. It was a lot of fun but it just didn't produce. Keep up the good fight!!
@IONRadio6 ай бұрын
MC30s with QTC can be somewhat problematic at close range for many ships. Add Home One, Ackbar, and external racks along with a ConFire…. Thanks! I did have fun trying to get something to work. Seeing the destructive power once in five games made it worth it.

Curious as the DW game that you mentioned from GF9. I play Time of the Daleks and it's a fun thematic dice game.
@IONRadio6 ай бұрын
That is the one. It seems similar to Elder Sign in its implementation which makes it a fairly easy game to get into. My primary concern is that I could get all the Doctors except Capaldi (12th) right now. He is eventually being released in an expansion by GF9. - Ken

That's actually just the Dominion Heavy Cruiser. The Dominion Battleship (featured in DS9 episodes like "Valiant") is almost three times the length of the Galaxy-class for perspective with twice the firepower. That and the Romulan Warbird must be "Huge" classes if they're coming.
@admiraltater54366 ай бұрын
Yes, they talked about the really really big ships. The only thing stopping them from the size will be packaging and manufacturing. So for the really really big ships they might have to scale them down a couple inches.

Rising Tensions definitely sounds Romulan (Warbirds and Valdore-class); there was definitely a misunderstanding here.
@admiraltater54366 ай бұрын
The only thing I know for sure was Klingon Warbird and the repainted defiant as a valiant class. We did not record though, so I might be creating a false narrative in my head.
@IONRadio6 ай бұрын
This could have been a reference to a Klingon Bird of Prey (B'Rel class) along with the USS Valiant. If memory serves, the Valore class was not in service until post-DS9.
@aaronmarshall56946 ай бұрын
@@IONRadio True, but then again the Constellation-class was never seen in active use on TNG, either; it was decades old. So I definitely think Wizkids has some leeway as far as potential ships featured early on; they may not stick strictly to what was shown on the small screen. After all, the Remains were mentioned as having been cannon fodder during the Dominion War and we never saw that (or a host of other events) onscreen in DS9, so it's feasible that Valdore-class Warbirds were active during the period.
@aaronmarshall56946 ай бұрын
@@admiraltater5436 In Star Trek Warbirds always refer specifically to Romulan warships. The Klingons have Birds-of-Prey though (the smaller B'rel-class and the much larger K'vort-class), which I suspect some of the confusion here may be coming from. If represented on the table, the B'rel would be around the size of the Defiant or Jem 'Hadar Fighters while the K'vort has a wingspan greater than the length of a Galaxy-class starship and could accommodate a crew of 500. Aside from that the two look visually identical in overall design.

yeah I could be wrong, information overload lol
@aaronmarshall56946 ай бұрын
The campaign sounds intriguing, but this will be a HUGE missed opportunity if Wizkids doesn't at least include the option for straight-up ship-to-ship tactical battles like Armada. Two different types of games that attract two different types of players, and I imagine that a lot of folks who may be attracted to this game prefer the Armada approach.
@admiraltater54366 ай бұрын
So the ships all have hull, shields, and weapon stats, nothing is stopping you from just running ships against each other. And we don't know the full details yet, so they might include straight-up combat scenarios in the book. I know I'll be using my warbirds to hammer a solution instead of peace talks.

@admiraltater54366 ай бұрын

There was a brief discussion about that, and it seemed to me that AMG believes they would have to price reprints at a point that would not sell. Beyond that, I cannot say.
