Hot take… I have seen two cards in this debate that both slap in my Obeka, Splitter of Seconds deck…Dragonmaster Outcast and Creeping Bloodsucker. I say this not because I think they are good in general but because I think most cards have a home. Personally, I enjoy decks were you can play off-beat cards and they become really good. I would encourage you to instead of poo pooing a card, instead find where it slaps.

I play Creeping Bloodsucker in my Teysa, Opulent Oligarch EDH. Mainly because it helps trigger Teysa's ability at the end step. I play some other pingers in the deck too, like Sheperd of Rot

Vorinclex is awesome! 5 mana for a 6/6 is already decent, 5 mana for a 6/6 with trample and reach is above decent, 5 mana for all of that plus it gifts you two lands to build up to the transform cost where the Saga on the back is not only insane but also returns him back to the battle instead of throwing him in the trash is AMAZING. I don't know how you can argue for that compass and not love Vorinclex

Plus his Saga is Unconditional unlike the other Double-faced Praetors which all say “wait! Fill up opponents graveyard/fill up your hand/sacrifice 3 creatures/cast 3 instants or sorceries.” He literally gives you the ramp you need to cruise right into dropping a free Nyxbloom Ancient and a Vorinclex Voice of Hunger on the next turn.

Creeping Bloodsucker on turn 3 means you can still pay for Sorin's extort, which will flip him. You don't have to wait until the upkeep. It's also 3 more damage his -1 will do if you use it.

In a mono red deck, you have to play chaos warp WITH wild magic surge. It's not a "one or the other" situation. Like you guys said, you have to answer to more stuff that red isn't good at handling like enchantments

1: Roadside is solid. If you don't prepare for the late game, that's where you will lose. Obviously, play it in an fitting deck. 2: Bala Ged works. Has better alternatives. 3: Some Planeswalkers are good. The arguement that it's no better than a sorcery is flawed. Because, multiple activations are possible, and it requires a resource to remove. 4: Wild magic. Only worthy in mono red. 5: End festivites is underrated: You will realize once you play it. 6. Gwafa is weak. Upside is tiny compared to downside. Not only can bribed creatures not attack you but your other opponents are spared as well. Not to mention, all this for a gifted card. 7. True conviction is GOOD. Never underestimate lifelink. When combat matters... it's excellent. 8. Creeping bloodsucker is a sleeper. Surprisingly good. Nothing hurts more than having to use resources to get rid of a common 2 drop. but believe me, your opponents will want to once they realize its value. 9. Journey to eternity. I mean... is your commander getting targeted? Will you recast it for the 2 tax? Would you like a reanimate land? Say no more. 10. Quicksmith.. In the right deck.. maybe. If you're relying on a filter, your deck is prob. lame anyway. Lame-not fun. 11. Tribute. How much is "lost" from a 2 mana investment? No one is going to remove it.. So you will end up with a 3/3. Not great but not as bad as Mia says. 12. Dragonmaster.. Rarely amounts to anything. 13. Thaumatic compass. Have to agree with Mia. Expensive stinker. At best a late game Maze of Ith. pass. 14. Tezzeret. Has better alternatives. As mentioned Tezzeret Seeker. 15. Meteor golem. Spot on analysis from Mia. 16. Vorinclex. Two words. Value and Utility. Very worthy.

It's actually marginally better than Soul's Majesty even. If somebody blows up your biggest creature in response to Garruk's ability, you'll still draw cards equal to the next biggest creature you control where Soul's Majesty would fizzle.

I think I agree with Mia because bala ged recovery is green, and green is the ramp enabler color, that makes this mdfc just fine in a 5 color deck. This will cast you your three visits/nature's lore/skyshroud claim etc to find you your duals and triomes, or cast your bloomtender

I started playing True Conviction in my Birds deck not expecting much of it, but it surprised me in the few times I've drawn it, especially since not only helps me push extra damage from my mediocre birds, which have evasion but lack in power (even if I do run some anthem effects and Moonshaker) but it also gives me extra combat damage procs for Kastral (I tried the card because of this, before I was on Ishai+Esior and didn't run it) which is really nice

I used to run True Conviction in my knights tribal deck. I switched it for Duelist's Heritage and found that it served me way better. It's only 2 and a white. It only gives double strike to a single creature but you can also use it on your opponents attack phase to make some politics with it and to give one of their creature double strike at the cost of attacking someone else. Don't get me wrong, True Conviction is a beast but I do agree that it feels a little bit win-more in some cases.

I will say that Mia is sleeping on Journey to Eternity. In a mid power deck this is basically a protection spell a ramp spell if you're able to kill the thing yourself and a reanimation spell when you're low on cards is some nutty role compression. I know I'd want it in something like my Indoraptor Perfect Hybrid deck because that deck has an issue of running out of gas and Indoraptor is a massive terrifying target when this deck goes off. Or my Muldrotha deck really wants permanent based reanimation and protection.

Roadside Reliquary is a card I've SEEN used well, but never managed to pull off the draw two personally. However, this looks like an amazing card to try in my Burakos/Guild Artisan Treasures deck! I'll always have access to both artifacts and at least one enchantment thanks to my commanders so the lost of one land may not weigh so heavily come mid-game or late game. Gotta give it a shot!

caveat for tribute to horobi: i play it in massacre girl known killer and the rats usually die instantly to auto -1/-1 effects so it's just boatloads of drawing.. and then i get a 3/3 flying haste with wither.

1) Roadside Reliquary needs a lot of artifacts and enchantments, not just a bunch, like, 10/15 of each. Otherwise it's kind of useless. So, mostly no. 2) Bala ... You need bouncelands to get that land back and yse the front side. Yes, the option is good, but you'll end up losing a good card without thise juicy way to bounce lands back. 3?) End of Festivity is awesome in Taii Wakeen, Perfect Shot : it might be a Blasphemous Act but costing a few cents 4) I like True Conviction BUT if I could build somewhat of an army, plan to attack or block a lot AND have ways to reduce its casting cost. 5) Creeping Bloodsucker is awesome in my 60-card upkeep-focused Esper deck. Followed Steps, Paradox Haze, Extravagant Replication, the snow artifact ring that clone itself ... This kind of deck. 6) Im with Beezy about Journey to Eternity: you need a build around, like ALL cards shown there, but in lot-of-mana-producing-stuff deck that card is awesome

I love Dragonmaster Outcast in Ghired, Mirror of the Wilds. Not only do you get a 5/5 on the upkeep, but Ghired can tap that turn to make a second 5/5 and the dragonmaster can tap for a third 5/5. Any additional nontoken creatures you have already is just bonus. The Dragonmaster has to survive 1 turn, but if unanswered, will make a huge board with Ghired.

1. There is already a true horizon land at colorless, 3 mana is too much even late to maybe get 2 cards but likely get 1. An opponent could spite kill your 1 enchantment when this happens or worse both, meaning you tappes 3 mana for nothing. For the same reason as you gave recovery later. "How often do you..." draw 2 with this. There are better options. 2. BGR is one of the MDFCs i would say is an auto include in any deck that can run it. Likely you need high concentration of green lands just for ramp, and when you don't you get recollect on the front side. No downside. In her deck there aren't may cards have the versatility. There are some regrowth effects that only hit permanents that cost less. 3. I dont think any card type is worse than any other. A good card is a good card. I usually only play the ones that are on my theme... or Ashiok, they can get it. 4. WMS is fine, there are so many enchantments that just hoze some of my strategies (specifically in my dragonstorm deck) hitting a RIP or LeyVoid is crucial. 5. Don't let you memes stay dreams. 6. Gwafa seems bad, there are better options. Even if its just more protection for you utility creatures so they can block. 7. 3www is so much, Akromas will isnt enough? Moonshaker Cavalry 8. Creeping bloodsucker is a role player. I play this in Belbe specifically to get a trigger without having to go to combat.

one of my favorites is ovika, enigma goliath. i use it with shark typhoon. kiora bests the sea god. fireball. fanning the flames. crackle with power. so basically if i cast fireball for 7 total mana. i can create a 7/7 flyer token AND 7 1/1 tokens. it can snowball pretty hard in the late game. if smaller spells for earlier game still they can generate alot of tokens and pressure early on. since they are goblins cards like goblin grenade and shrapnel blast can add value.

True conviction is great, it's an enchantress overrun. If you are getting combo killed it's not going to do much, but besides that it pretty much always gains you enough life to get another turn.

Maybe Mia's Door Deck could be making copies of the Door itself rather than copying the triggers! Artificer Class and Stolen Identity are repeatable ways to copy it (and with Artificer Class you can set up the effect before casting the Door itself to get your first copy on the same end step). Three Steps Ahead is modal so can either copy the Door or counter a spell or draw cards - or all 3, Replication Technique has the 'demonstrate' keyword so can make more than one copy, Echo Storm can copy it for each time you've cast your commander. Mythos of Illuna could also get you a copy - and once you have copied the Door once, cards like Dutiful Replicator can copy any token to make more copies and Caretaker's Talent can draw you cards for each token while also giving another way to get a copy of a token for one mana... Door To Nothingness tribal anyone?

Regarding True Conviction - I would actually feel the Lifelink would often be a downside for me. In my Judith, Carnage Connosseur deck I run Chain Reaction and Blasphemous Act. Last time I played the deck I ended up gaining to the north of 500 life with a Chain Reaction. The end result was that I did nothing else for most of the rest of the game because literally everything I played got shot down the second it hit the table because of the massive life lead. Had there been a combat-oriented commander in the pod, I would've likely died to commander damage long before my life total leveled off enough to stop people from solely focus-firing me. I feel True Conviction risks running to similar problems: you get a big swing off with it, don't win right away and the game turns into archenemy even if True Conviction ends up being removed. Of course different pods play differently - my pod usually tends to keep things in check to keep things interesting for everyone rather than quickly eliminating people.

Personally i play creeping bloodsucker in my mono black Mortarion deck as i want as much lifegain to turn it into lifeloss later on, so having it stick around even 2 or 3 turns it become 6 or 9 life that i can lose to turn it into 2/2 warriors with menace so it's quite neat

Journey to Eternity. Just an interesting fact for you guys. When cEDH became a bit more developed and Flash/Hulk lines became dominant, the non-blue decks would play this card on their Protean Hulk, so yeah, it was cEDH playable at one point. This is before cards like Fake Your Own Death, Malakir Rebirth, etc. which would've immediately taken that spot at the time, because the backside is super weak imo, even in casual. Nowadays, if you can't abuse the fact that it is a also and Enchantment, then it's SO much weaker than the 1 mana options.

Mía wins the debate in this installment for sure but I’ve favored Beezy’s logic before this. I think it’s because of how Mia always talks his decks up (not a bad thing). In any case, more ppl need to do this exercise with a trusted other. We all put dumb stuff in our decks because they are our babies, and we need to be brought to reality.

In lieu of True Conviction or Moonshaker Cavalry, I like Serra’s Emissary and always choosing the card type “creatures”. All your creatures become unblockable and you don’t take combat damage from anyone else for as long as it’s in play. Also stops damage from certain creatures that deal direct damage like Niv-Mizzet. Also in lieu of meteor golem, I like bladegriff prototype. I just like political cards in general. Plus it costs 2 less mana. And reusable every turn. 😅 (*only for casual low power decks)

I just dropped a Dragoncaster outcast on turn 6 playing Obeka, Made 5 dragons. And my opponent playing Saheeli conceded during the next turn. Card is bananas for a 1 drop.

Lol at the dying hill of Tribute to Horobi. I think almost all of my decks would love getting a disposable rat to sacrifice to something. Also, the argument of it's akward to swing the rats into each other is shattered with a 2/2 >.

Last time i drew the only Planeswalker i play in ally decks i ultimated and put 40 forests on the field. Had a colonoan twingrove and token at 45/45 😂. I still lost though. Needed trample.

MDFC’s like Bala Ged Recovery are super versatile and thus I see the spell side as more of a bonus unless it directly ties in with the deck. Also, I will not take slander on any Ixalan dual-faced cards whatsoever. They are my babies. 😂 As for Creeping Bloodsucker, it’s a perfect card for Teysa, Oppulent Oligarch for her to investigate 3 times on your end step every time.

I have a budget Inniaz political deck. Forgot about Thaumatic Compass. Thanks for the convincing argument - the political argument of 'here's a creature from another opponent don't attack me with him' is better with a maze of ith in play AND I can use it to save my own attacker in a pinch for the Inniaz trigger. Putting it in that deck!

-Roadside Reliquary? Who cares about losing one land in later stages of the game? -When it comes to planeswalkers - in my opinion they are demonized too much. In reality in many decks they are close to being unkillable or require a lot of resources. In most games people don't have 4/5 power creatures just laying around waiting to strike planeswalkers. They are better when you are ahead for sure, but I don't think that they deserve that much hate. -Creeping Bloodsucker in my opinion is better than it looks. Its much better at being enabler of all kind of plays than being a vampire. It slowly drains enemies away, giving you all kind of damage dealt/lifegain triggers, staying low profile for few turns. Especially that compared to other similar cards it doesn't have any requirements - it doesn't need creatures to enter or die or whatever. And it can always be used to block or sacrifice fodder. -Quicksmith Genius can be such a powerhouse in artifacts decks. I have it in Mishra, Tamer of Mak Fawa reanimator artifact deck and its insane how much this little guy can do. Its not that uncommon to see 2-3 artifacts or even more get onto the battlefield each of your turn so for 3 mana you get insane card selection, graveyard filler and a decent body.

Only viewing true convicrtion from an offensive viewpoint is a huge mistake. Your playing white, so your team having vigilance is almost a given add in deathtouch for orzhov and see 1/1 token slay that huge overrun swing.
