The first Warstorm Surge trigger with Blightsteel Colossus should have killed Busterkins. Warstorm Surges says: "Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, it deals damage equal to its power to any target", meaning, the creature deals the damage, not Warstorm Surge. In other words, all relevant keywords that care about damage being dealt (like Infect, Lifelink and Wither, for example) apply their effects to the target of the damage. Finally, this means Busterkins should have taken 11 infect damage there and died on the spot.

Welp, that is the only way to win with a Giada deck: double cost reduction into herald of war, lands every turn, not be board cleared, early folk hero into a platinum+ton of angels. Happy to see it happen tho!

I hate it when one player just gifts the win to another. Jman should have cooperated with the other two to take down plat angel. His play guaranteed his own loss instead. The catch is that maybe they did discuss having nothing able to deal with the angels, but seems unlikely they would have that conversation.

With the wording of warstorm surge, the blightsteel etb should have killed busterkins at 9:18 since infect damage doesnt care about if the damage was dealt in combat or not, therefore the blightsteel etb shouldve dealt 11 poison damage to busterkins.

Warstorm surge could have been helpful against avacyn. Dealt damages with one of the dragons on etb then blighsteel on etb to finish up with the -1/-1 counters. But still gg :)

Don't think that would work considering Avacyn was 12 toughness (with four +1 counters), even with the eleven -1 counters, it would be 1 toughness with some damage marked, which is irrelevant as it is indestructible.
