Just a heads up on black market connections: you don’t have to go down the ladder and you can’t ignore it. You have to choose one or more. You can just choose the card, or the treasure or the creature. Or any combination of those. But it’s not a may

You choose which you want, but then they all resolve in order on the card. There is not a gap between each mode where you can make choices or respond. The big thing is you can't draw the card and then choose if you want the others or not. You have to make the decision all at once. Fun episode.

Protection from Black will not save a creature from being destroyed by No Mercy. Protection keeps something from being: D - Damaged E - Enchanted/Equipped B - Blocked T - Targeted by a source covered by the Protection. No Mercy's triggered effect is none of those.

I find it best to count your hand, permanents in play and graveyard to determine what number your library is at. Saves time counting shit and it's easier to do this before your turn also to save waiting around if you had this play in mind for your next turn anyhoo.

Fun note, not that it affected anything, the protection from black that the Sword of Feast and Famine would not protect the equipped creature from No Mercy. Protection does not protect from destroying, it prevents damage, targeting, and blocking, as No Mercy does not target the equipped creature would be destroyed.

This was definitely a "shouldve read your cards" epsiode. Etali Primal Conqueror's ETB was ignored, Black Market Connections was not read correctly/understood completely.

It was the wrong graphic for Etali. I’ve only seen people play Black market like Rankle. I figured it was the same deal. People make mistakes, it happens. I’m sure you have as well. No one is perfect.

Don’t know if it would have changed things, but the Etali trigger got missed. New Etali is on ETB not attacks

black market connection let's you pick any ability. you don't have to pick the once before it first. Also you cannot skip it. You must pick at least one at the beginning of first main phase.

I am not sure but i think living death was played incorrectly. You exile the creatures out of your grave > then sac creatures then creatures exiled come on to the battlefield.
