Morbid opportunist has been slept on for so long, I've been playing this in so many decks now and it's great. Even in aristocrats decks what pushes this above in a lot of cases is the ability to trigger off tokens as well

4:55 you can bounce them, but the best removal in blue are counterspells. The problem is, you have to have it at the right time and enough mana to answer enchantments.

A hard counter to this will cost 2 mana some of the time, but 3 or 4 usually. A 3 mana counter to something they’re likely going to tap out for? I think that’s a trade you should always make.

Idol of Oblivion is lots of fun! I first put it in Kykar because with her in play you get a token on cast and it’s up, also love it in Prosper where I always make treasure. The best trick is having Osgir bring back two Idol tokens that can immediately tap for cards.

The funny thing about Cabal Stronghold is that if you have Urborg in a two-color deck, the basic lands of the other type (e.g. Mountains) do actually count. 😂

This is my absolute favorite channel for Commander deck tech and probably my favorite Magic channel. You guys rock. And I'm so glad that you've lowered your power level. My decks are super budget (outside of higher cost cards I've either pulled or have had in my collection for a while) so this is great to see. I run Greater Good in my Rienne deck because she pumps power AND you want to sac creatures because you'll get them back. That's one tool that the new Liesa doesn't have! I've had Edgar Markov for a long time, way before his price spiked due to Crimson Vow. Idol of Oblivion is PERFECT for that deck because you are always creating tokens. I play Morbid Opportunist on Arena and it's always produced value for me there. Unfortunately, I had to choose between Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow and I chose Crimson Vow, so I have very few MH cards. It's on my list once I have a singles budget again. And I picked up the Kotori Buckle Up deck because I've been wanting an artifact creature matters/vehicle deck for a while. I just modified it and I can't wait to try out Kappa Cannoneer in there. BTW, I put Liquimetal Torque in there. While I don't recommend it for every deck, I think it's an underrated 2MV mana rock for any deck that cares about artifacts OR has a lot of ways to destroy artifacts. While it doesn't really synergize with Blastoise (since you either tap it for mana, tap it for Improvise, or tap it to make something else an artifact just to tap it for Improvise), the deck has a fair amount of Affinity and "artifacts matter." I can also use it to make a non-artifact creature an artifact so Kotori can give it Vigilance and Lifelink. Good stuff. Thanks for the content you produce. Once I can afford singles again, I'll definitely use your affiliate link for TCG Player. And Culling Ritual is SICK. I have very little Strixhaven so I need to pick this up for Otrimi.

Nice to see Goreclaw on your list! I played your exact Commander Cube (pre Kamigawa) this weekend and it really enabled me to break the board stall. Took out all of my four opponents one by one in subsequent turns. Your cube really is the most fun Magic format ever, we had a total blast playing it. Seriously, we've been playing for years and this was the best magic experience ever. I am really looking forward to you guys making a video about the huge Kamigawa update!

I've always liked True Conviction in any of my combat-focused decks; it's one of my favorite staples, in fact. That card is pretty insane if you're also hitting the other static keywords like vigilance and deathtouch. Works well with stuff like Ankle Shanker or Archetype of Finality

Brazen borrower is in my yuriko deck. It's not often it bounces, becomes a flyer, an goes back to my hand then I use her again. But, whenever it's in my hand it gets used with atleast 1 part of the card. Mostly bouncing. But shes has pulled through as an emergency evasive a few times after a board wipe. It's just always worked so well, whenever it's in my hand. Love that card

Blastoise (Kappa Cannoneer) is a lot of fun. I played mine last night and it was a 36/36. I had Panharmonicon, Sharding Sphinx and nineteen thopters. My favorite turtle was going to get forty-two more counters on it but my opponents wiped the field before I could get back to my turn.

Apex Devastator is used in cEDH as well. It's mainly used in decks like Selvala and Marwyn, that are capable of producing 10 mana as early as turn 4 fairly consistently, but outside of that it doesn't see much cEDH play.

I know you boys aren't into reliquary tower in mono green. I suggest checking out Selvala Brostorm on Maxfield. It's a green deck that does like having a no maximum hand size. I run momentous fall and greater good in the deck and have lots of fun with a giant hand! I even throw in a copy of spellbook from tenth edition for another funzies no hand max card. It can atleast buy you time until your next turn running "no hand max" cards, inevitably leading you to a win by next turn. I mean if you can't pull off a turn 4-5 win with Selvala, you should try Boros or something...lol Anyways, great video guys, I enjoy your content and encourage that you keep at it!

I've got Kappa Cannoneer in my Brudiclad deck and it goes infinite with Urza and Animation Module to start which is just a plus but my last game I played I made a single copy of it and because of the pseudo hexproof they couldn't be removed and I ended up with 6, all power over 10 and swinging unlockable every turn because Brudiclad makes a new myr(which then becomes a new Cannoneer) at all of your combats. It also works great with Breath of Fury in the same because 1. It becomes unlockable as fore mentioned 2. Tokens have haste. My play group didn't understand why I liked this card so much initially but now they definitely do. 😅

Ok skylanders bit here, Me and my nephew played those all the time together because it was a game he could get into at 5 years old, and since the figures saved the data and progress of the digital version, we could grab a controller and our favorite character and go to the others house and game all day without having to worry about signing in to xbox live or other service. So it will always have a place in my heart for the ease of use it brought to a digital game.

Interesting interaction with Cabal Stronghold that people miss. If you play Urborg and you have basic islands, forests, mountains, or plains, they are now also now considered basic swamps because they are still basic lands. So an island affected by Urborg will count towards Cabal Stronghold’s basic swamp requirement.

Completely agree with Culling Ritual. I play it in my Jund Tana/Tevesh token aggro deck and it does work every single time. Even if I end up killing a bunch of my own tokens, I’m always super fine with trading in some tokens from for example Tana for a bunch of mana.

Morbid Opportunist sees token creatures dying, whereas similar creatures tend not to. That's a HUGE strength. You really do care about your own death triggers if you're running him in a tokens-heavy deck.

If you're playing Culling Ritual, Veteran Explorer and Viridian Emissary are nice creatures to have in play. It's ramptastic. 4 or 5 mana plus whatever else you destroy.

Also, Brazen Borrower in Ninja decks. If you Petty Theft, you cast the Borrower, swing, ninjutsu, and then you can Petty Theft again. Mana Advantage for DAYZ.

For removing enchantments, blue can bounce them to the hand but not as good as removing them. At least, your opponents would have to use mana to recast them. Funny that you showed Brazen Borrower as the next card when talking about enchantment removal.

3 mana nissa is nuts in token decks too. I have it in my BG walkers deck that just spits out tokens. that -2 changed a board of chump blockers into a lethal threat. super sweet card even without counter synergies!!

And it allows me to sacrifice things I don’t need any more to dig for things I do. Primus is just funny. But I sacrifice Regal Force if it didn’t get me there. Saturday, I had to sacrifice the star/star (apparently asterisks appear as blank?) Primeval Titan thing to it to find the final piece.

One thing cool about cabal stronghold is if you have urborg your none swamp basics will now count. Also our meta has a lot of nonbasic hate like blood moon ruination and back to basics. So I have to walk a fine like of how many nonbasics I can run.
