Absolutely spot on! Commander's Intent is a super power! Because it allows you to clone yourself using other thinking human beings! Its easy to make a overly complex object perform a task. It takes much more thought and effort to get the task done with a simple object, but your left with something way more robust, affordable and useful.

I came up with "Ready the evac-boat and we'll get to that shoreline.", how much do you want to bet someone will forget to bring emergency comms because I was too specific? I like your version better. Good video.

Great as all your vids! Also, quick piece of info about your channel; the Home page when people visit your channel currently states "This channel has no content" so I'd recommend updating that since it may discourage people from clicking "Videos" tab which then reveals all your vids.

The Ukrainians are producing the WW3 casualty results we thought the *Russians* would, and not the other way around. I'm extremely impressed.

*believing in twitter propaganda numbers from a country as notorious as Russia for making shit up* My advice for all is to not have a take on the war in regards to how it's going for either side until a week or two from now. Because the only thing coming out of the country is propaganda from both sides. The reality is is that we have virtually zero actual information about what is going on other than very broad avenues of attack directions at division+ level.

@@originalpastaman5470 i'm believing the videos of dead tanks, jets inexplicably still flying, and downed helicopters. and the numbers for russian casualties i am using to base this off of were reported by TASS briefly before taken down, which is a russian, not ukrainian source i've seen people have radically different views of the war based on who they follow. i know what you're talking about. i'm just watching, with google earth as a reference, where they show up and stuff like that. ukraine's geography is now burned into my mind

Does the commanders intent stay the same across the board? Or would the commanders intent be different mission to mission or echelon to echelon i.e. a platoon leader writing out the execution paragraph for his unit for the specific mission they are about to do; would he just copy and paste the CI from echelons above him or the CI given for the entire operation he is taking part in? Or will he make a CI of his own specific for his units mission?
@christopherlarsen77882 жыл бұрын
Good question. The CI is tailored to every single mission. It changes. But the formulaic structure offered in this video holds true from squad leader, to platoon commander, all the way up to Army Group Commander of a theater of operations. No, we do not simply regurgitate the battalion commander's CI for each company and platoon. Rather, each company and subordinate platoon is assigned a "piece of the action" - a subordinate task that directly impacts the success of the battalion's mission. As such, each subordinate company and platoon commander creates their own CI for their unit and their unique objectives within the battalion's mission. Okay? This is called nesting CI.

Civil War Generals were terrible at this. Lee might have been especially bad. But most of them were bad at this.
@christopherlarsen77882 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this art had not been codified at that time. Some historic generals seem to understand this art rather intuitively...but even that took time, and plenty of trial and error, I'm sure.

9:56., On a boat in the ocean sinking .. Hmmmmmm.. Hit the Alarms..!!. Signals of sme kind. Right away would start delighting jobs/tasks to abandon ship. Considering I have three mins, Their should be a pre-plan to fallow proceeders to egress quickly off the boat.. Life jackets umm lets c, a rescue boat of some kind with minimum two weeks of food water for 10 man rescue boat, including the ability to make water and catch food to prolong life st sea. Head count. Don't know really that just off the top of my head. But I don't know really, I kinda like to be some what prepared to if any emergency dose happen I don't have to think really and rely on more a system In place so is quick to respond instead of thinking.
