Yeah it was. So good. Its only gotten better with the printing of hour of revelation. Sometimes you end up with both in your hand, 5 mana one sided board wipe for all non lands.

Go Go Godo! 15:50 I love to see another version of Paradox Haze that gave you an additional end step. There are many cards that give beneficial end step triggers. Nice to see respectful opponents.

Yeah this was a fun game. Most times when you play helm people crush like a paper bag. Glad to see some fight from our opponents.

This has to be my favorite deck of yours! I built my paper copy of Aurelia off of yours. What a very good back and forth game, good opponents! More Aurelia please!! Also what are your thoughts on the card Heavenly Blademaster she seems it could be great in this deck!

Nice! I updated the decklist this morning, so see if theres any changes that you think are necessary. This deck has really come along way since its original version. I think its much more synergistic than it used to be. Most of the creatures care about being equipped and do good things when they are. Yeah Blademaster looks really cool, but I haven't actually cast one yet so id like to playtest it. Free equips tend to be really strong. I see it being really good when you have a haste equipment down like boots, or Sword of Vengeance. (something I think I should add back In) In a slower meta like 10 turns or more, I can see it being a powerhouse. The casting cost might hold it back in faster metas...but I'll need to see.

I tried heavenly blade master, it's awkward because at its cmc it wants to be in an angel tribal but it's synergy wants it to be in equipment. I'd go cheaper, kazuuls toll collector, armory automoton, auriok wind talker, Balan etc

Sunforger is MVP every game :) Definitely one of my favorite cards. Hopefully Wotc will give us a new even cooler sunforger in the next ravnica.

Yeah Helm is really sweet. I actually like its application in non Aurelia and godo decks...its honestly just a little too good. I want to take Arvad out for another spin and see if we can helm attached to something cool.

Helm of the Host is an insane Magic card. The combination of -isn't an upkeep trigger -ignores legendary -grants haste (not that it mattered for Aurelia) -doesn't sacrifice at end step can be really broken. I play it in several decks, but it's really nice in Feldon since it has the added utility of making me token copies of my Feldon tokens that stick around. Added bonus of going infinite with Combat Celebrant.

Yeah I agree its super crazy. Honestly makes Aurelia and Godo a little too good. I do really like the possibilities it opens up for other commanders though, that don't just immediately end the game. The 2 elesh norns was pretty cool. With most cards it feels like you get 70% of the things you want. With helm you get 100% which is super rare....it just does all the things you want. But you make up for it in the casting cost. Ive been wanting to try out Arvad again see if we can get helm down and just get some copies of a fun legend. Also I have dreams of 5 ionas. Wont be fun for opponents and they will totally scoop, but a man can dream.

It's spicy in Brudiclad. Unfortunately it gets a little degenerate because that deck wants all the red extra-combat stuff too. 5 ionas is a beautiful dream.

Thanks! Yeah I agree, Jhoira had some fun stuff going on. Multipel casts on that reality strobe. And they could have held us off for several more turns with that captain of the mists.

Wow. That was an awesome game. I am trying to build out my own Aurelia deck in paper but keep getting decision paralysis when it comes to cutting because I want to do a reanimator theme with a sunforger package.

Yeah I could see that being a tough split to make. Sunforger is very powerful but eats up a lot of card slots for the full package. Youll have to make some tough decisions about whether you can live with a smaller sunforger package, or whether you really want to go in on the reanimator plan.

Nice game! I'm really curious about that Jhoira player's deck though... seems really interesting and atypical, from what we saw. Have you ever considered running Goblin Welder, or anything else that can get your equipment out of the graveyard in case of a boardwipe?

Yeah they definitely had something interesting going on. Sucks when you don't get to see more of a deck. Yeah Ive looked at a few things. Remember the Fallen is a card that I think about periodically. I used to run things like sanctum gargoyle and original Nahiri but its too slow most of the time. I lean on Sun Titan pretty heavily for recursion. But Emeria Shepherd is probably my new favorite get stuff back kind of card. Havent thought about welder, but it could be good!

Great game! I myself just came from fnm, Aurelia had a great night. A breya player cast a bribery, taking Gisela while I had an expedition map in play. One Homeward path and a blood rushed wrecking ogre later the boros angels were victorious

I'd high recommend playing Grand Abolisher and Conqueror's Flail to nullify interaction. Daretti, Scrap Savant and Goblin Welder offer warranties on equipment as well as other utility. Also Batterskull! El classico to grab early with Stoneforge. Throw the badskull on Glory Bringer for a vigilance lifelinking flame slashing fighter jet of a dragon.

Yeah batterskull is awesome, only reason its not in is because my equipment count is already 1 or 2 higher than I would like it...though I should probably just find room for it. Conquerors and Grand Abolisher are great SB options, I am historically bad about running those type of cards especially on MTGO since decks are generally a little less powerful than at the store. In paper I keep those available as SB options and if I see something nasty coming Ill side them in before the game. Daretti is actually pretty interesting because of the ability to loot also, something I should try out. For all of these its really just a case of, there are no bad cards in this deck so adding things in means cutting other good cards. So if you know what to expect from your local meta, you may want to shift the deck in certain directions such as Grand Abolisher.

Every time you resolve a Sunforger it makes me want to shift my Queen Marchesa deck to have a minor equipment subtheme. Basically just Sunforger, Swords, and Batterskull with SFM and the like. Deck already plays Mistveil Plains, feels almost criminal that I'm not rolling these. Also, something you get that's sweet with Boros Charm in Black if you don't have your Hour of Revlation; Last One Standing.

Yeah its worth trying out. Grabbing the card you need when you need it most is really powerful. Another thing you can do too, is the combo I ran in the Queen Marchesas Final Fortune video with Sunforger, Final Fortune and Angels Grace. Gives you a way to close out the game quickly that is powerful and unique but allows for counterplay from your opponents.

Ya'know that Armory Automaton is the MVP in my Zurgo Helmsmasher equipment deck. Something about auto equipping all the things and being colorless so he walks right on by all the pro color guys lol. Now obviously big Zurg hits like a truck but that's if they're still alive for me to cast and equip anything tehe.

Yeah its a super sweet card. One that I don't think sees enough play. But I guess equipment decks are a little out of fashion these days. Zurgo is one of those decks that I lose to pretty frequently. Its just hard to stop. Aurelia doesn't have a great track record against zurgo. However, in 1v1 one time I was able to hold off a zurgo opponent with Ashling the pilgrim and got there with the ashling beats....wouldn't have expected that outcome.

Honestly Endless Atlas is the card I'm most excited about. I think it will help Mono Red and Mono White catch up a little bit to the other colors which they badly need. Ashling Baby! Commander wise, the PW commanders have never really been my thing, who wants a commander that cant attack? Thantis and Varchild are the commanders I think I'm most excited about. They look fun and have some unique stuff going on. Fury storm looks nice for mono red, and as a sunforger target.

I'm early, time to abandon all work! Damn, these people, getting all the good draws. Also, you've made the deck I'm still in the process of making, noice. Have you considered Heavenly Blademaster for this deck from new commander set? People passing with blue mana open make games uncomfortable. I had Riku player go draw-pass 3 turns in a row while playing Zur, man, that was so stressful - does he have counterspell? Is he flooded and bluffing? Raff was weird. Jhoira was weird. You either go Eldrazi or full chaos, there's no middle ground there. Slivers show what happens when you go aggro creatures - you try to kill one player and then just die to some combo. Liked the game, but I like angel tribal more than equipments. I have helm just to close out drawn out games.

Why do you run crucible of worlds on this deck?

The past few months ive just been really hot on the crucible of worlds fetchland combo. I preach a lot of making all your land drops especially for games that will go longer. So investing 1 non land to do that seems worth it to me, but its certainly not necessary to make the deck operate. And then there is also just the random utility of lands ending up in your GY for one reason or another, and being able to get them back.

Ya know I say it differently every time I play it. I went on a search one time, I believe that Jit is more correct but I'm still not 100% on that. But it is a real Japanese weapon, it was to defend and disarm against sword attacks. Basically the hook shape would catch the blade, then they would twist the sword out of their hands and/or break the blade.

Capsize so early just to avoid a couple points of damage seems a waste. Especially with a sliver cost of arms coming down in the next turn or two and another player with a commander who likes to cheat in eldrazi

Good on them I say. Everyone else just crushes like a paper bag when Helm comes down so I'm glad to see a little fight from our opponents. The Boros charm play is one of those nice things about running a deck that ive played a lot. Many of the vidoes on the channel I'm playing decks that ive played maybe 1-3 times. Having a deck that I'm well practiced with, and knowing my sunforger package like the back of my hand is a nice thing.
