This Burren hype is quite ridiculous. His numbers last year were great but a guy with under 700 yards at 5’ 11” should not be a first round pick. Xavier Restreppo is better than both of these guys.

Kliff is the best O.C. and Quarterback coach in the league, but as a head coach he may need more overall organizational experience before making the transition to head coach.

Kliff - I think he has found his niche with the Commanders and JD5, plus he is still receiving head coach money from the Cardinals, so cash is less of an incentive. I'm sure he would love to develop Caleb, but he would hand off a lot of that responsibility to coaches under him. WR draft - i doubt Burden will fall to us, and i think it's unlikely AP would trade up. I've been watching Lacy and he has steadily climbed up the rankings. If he doesn't move up more based on college post season he is currently falling between our 2nd and 3rd round picks. I like his connection with JD5, and he has had a good year, so I think he would be a solid pick, but im not sure he is 2nd round quality. The bigger question is, who do we let slide if we go with WR? If we go with CB in round one, that means we have to decide between WR, Edge, and OL with our second pick. Hopefully, we'll have some clarity on that after free agency.

Chicago interviewed kliff last year with the intent to NOT hire him. Bears front office was fishing for Caleb info. Kliff carries a chip on his shoulder, it’s his competitiveness. Who else in college and nfl shows up to the facility at 4am? Air raid dynamics considered, the synergy…the offense gels so well, why would the OC want to leave something that embodies the fiber of his offense. The culture, where kliff said, we go through walk throughs to the point of it being annoying (paraphrased). But those walk throughs, the reps, it pays off. The entire offense of the commanders believe and execute.

Kliff will stay if he’s smart. Bears would go with Johnson anyway. Kliff needs to build his resume back up before stepping into HC again. Jets would be a end of career move, and he knows more than anybody that Caleb is a pompous diva that’s most likely gonna be a bust. After being with Jayden, he probably doesn’t want the burden of an average qb. If anything, Jacksonville should be a sight for him. He could work with Trevor and that offense.
