I was one of those people who had to restart the mission at the very end on account of being one sniper rifle bullet short... But before admitting defeat, I spent a good ten minutes trying to come just a couple pixels closer and get that second mine with a pistol. On my subsequent attempt, I finished the damn thing with like three sniper bullets still saved up. So glad I didn't just ragequit after the first failure.

I had the same issue too. I used the Marine to row the boat near the mines, dived, then pushed the boat to make them explode. Then, I pushed the boat all the way back to shore

I literally never managed to beat this first mission without doing a gimmick where I ran the alerts and fought ALL the Germans and reinforcements on the island by save-scumming and shooting them as they come around a corner with 4 pistols. I never figured out how you were supposed to play it. I did beat the game tho!!!!

I remember playing this game in elementary school and i was NEVER able to beat the first mission for the longest time because i had 1 iq at the time. I used to watch the intro mission cinematic for "good luck" thinking I'd get further and i sorta did surprisingly but was was still never able to beat it. I'd just sit in the corner with the harpoon gun, wait for the german soldier to run around corner then BAM shoot him dead, then continue to throw rocks or use the sound machine to lure the next german soldier LOL. Then in high school i gained +10 IQ points and managed to get through the first mission FINALLY and then some more. Shit was a fuckin blast! I'm gunna buy this game again since my pc doesnt have a CD drive now, hopefully i have enough IQ points to beat the game now lmao.

I played it when I was 11. Didn't know much about Nazis and their atrocities. However I had some idea about WW2. Didn't know that green beret was Irish (which was quite obvious). Spy was my favourite character, mainly because he could wear enemy's uniforms and infiltrate deep within them.

I still remember when I used up all snip bullet, there is no way to trigger the mine from distance so I came up with a solution of using diver. Pushing the boat to trigger the mine, then push the boat back to land, inflate it then escape :))

I've used all the explosives and barrels. the left side of the lighthouse is still standing. I've escaped in the boat and now I'm told I cannot complete the mission.....wtf man. I played this after playing commands 2 remastered....the upgrades and user friendliness in Commandos 2 are a Godsend. Well trained fighting machines these guys are supposed to be....and only one guy out of all of them can handle an Assault rifle and a submachine gun.....

Probably most frustrating game I played when I first started. In this particular mission iirc if you didn't save some sniper ammo you had no way of setting off the mines at the end and had to redo the mission.

Don't be confused with the title, it's not based on those Techland parkour and zombies video games. Yes, the Germans actually did occupy British territory in the form of the Channel islands (the Bailiwicks of Jersey and Guernsey) near Normandy. You can still get through. Shoot one mine with your gun and make the diver hit the other one with the boat. Make sure to get off the boat just before it hits. You can then push the boat back to the beach and refill it with air.

France couldn't do anything because together with British troops they had numerical superiority over Germany. They also had better and more numerous tanks. Another thing is that France had to fight only on one front, while Germans could attack on two... fuck, did I messed something?

there wasn't much to do for the french army though, they fought with outdated doctrines and tactics and overall they weren't nearly as warhungry as the germans. also while french tanks were better armed and armored, they were alot slower and more prone to technical failure than the german panzer II and III. they also completely relied on the maginot line, hwich proved to be a fatal mistake. i havwn't even touched on the massive aerial superiority of the german forces, which basically singlehandedly won the war against france at times. i don't think the french could have won the war at that stage, as germany had reinvented warfare with new weapons at their disposal and a focus on aerial support for mechanized troops.

In my game, playing hard mode, the guard on the top of the white, round building (at the top of the elevator) is impossible to snipe without getting caught unless I use the decoy. The ground level guard standing on the top of the first ladder will spot the body even when looking away. It seems to work on the video, but not in my game.

From what I remember, the guard on top of the white building has to finish his death animation (the bleeding) before the guard on the stairs turns back to look in his direction, or else the body will be spotted.

An enemy soldier won't raise an alarm if he is controlled by a commando and stays in the commando's line of sight.

@@foojam2002 In this game, it is possible to control an enemy soldier by clicking on the puppet icon in the knapsack (hotkey R). The soldier must be knocked unconscious and handcuffed first, though. Basically the idea is that a commando is holding the enemy soldier at gunpoint and forcing him to do things on the commando's behalf.
