I saw something similar at Historicon a few years ago. They were actually playing with Richard Borg himself. Bought C&C Tricorne from him that day and got it signed!

Can I ask where you obtained the minis and what size are the models and hexes? I have a similar project using MDF hexes. My rivers are similar but a little narrower. The hills are simply stacked hexes glued together at different heights, which gives a less organic look than yours. I am currently trying to decide on how to represent troops and yours look great.

Thanks Keith, what you saw above was the result of being unemployed and having a lot of time. Basically, what i did was buy about a half dozen Risk games on ebay (for cheap), (the ones with the nappy looking minis) then bought a roll of grassy terrain (the kind used for train layouts) and some thin foam rubber. I made a hexagon template out of plexiglass, used a marker to outline each hex, then used scissors to cut each one out, one by one by one..........(same with the grassy part, use template/draw on the white back and cut) The trees are also for train layouts. The river bends and such basically consist of hexes from which the middles were drawn on and cut out. The blue river is the result of construction paper. Hills consist of multiple layers (not glued together so they can be rearranged according to scenario specifics). Cans of spray paint to get the "right" colors for the minis, and glue sticks to base them. Took way longer than most people might want to spend. The little buildings are from a game called "Cathedral". I also did a major winter scene/layout, the pics of which are stuck on my old phone. Some day i'll be able to transfer and upload them.

Pins as in Pin cushion pins from sewing kit and printed out paper flags.
