I'm considering buying a long DJ bike frame, now I've found proof that it will work. Like the way your put information, like your bikes, like your channel. From Russia with love!🚲

the foot clearance is why I upsized on the absolut. I was right on the border of sizes but didnt want my feet to hit. Was happy with it, and was surprised there was more foot room than expected. I still havent even tried a barspin on it. honestly wish the brake cable were just an inch or so longer.

As a 6'3 37 year old guy who just bought this bike new today I'm pleased to find this channel! Have you made any further changes to your setup to fit you? Seems you have a different stem and bars? I'm thinking to go 60/80mm bars first
@johnseip3 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I have shortened the bike just a bit by using a half-link chain so I can run the wheel “slammed” in the dropout. I also put on a 35mm stem. It is a partial top load stem from Answer. I am using the stock handlebars that came with the bike.

Did you find the Majesty Park too cramped? I'm also 6'3
@johnseip2 жыл бұрын
NS Majesty Park felt amazing actually. Tight geometry for barspins but literally everything else including dirt jumps felt really good. Make sure to get tapered fork head tube though. I was unable to upgrade forks on mine.

I'm 6'5", do you think I'd feel cramped on one of these? Thinking about an Absolut or a PBJ.
@johnseip4 жыл бұрын
J D - I’m almost 6’3” and this bike feels almost too long. Had to put shorter stem on. This is the longest DJ bike I have ridden. I have size large.

I bought a long PBJ last year to get back into dirt jumping, but looking to get something shorter & more nimble. What's your thoughts on steel vs aluminum? I've only had steel, an NS Suburban & the PBJ. Loved my NS, but can't find one to go with the Pike on my PBJ. I mostly ride my local jump park that is mostly buffed out dirt. I'm not hitting the pro lines anymore at my age.

Aluminum is a little lighter. More harsh feeling for street and skatepark. I recently went back to Chromoly with The Rise Partymaster. I would say NS decade would fit the aluminum shorter more nimble category you are looking for. The PBJ and Commencal Absolut have low bottom brackets so they are a little less nimble but feel amazing on jumps. Just go with medium instead of long if you want shorter on those frames.

At 183cm i think i should choose size M :D...clearly size L is too big for me
@johnseip4 жыл бұрын
It is a long bike! Size medium is comparable to the NS Decade or Specialized P3 which are both 1 size fits all.

I’m 178cm and going to get this bike but don’t know what size I’m still growing though?

I think a Medium would be the best size. Large is quite long

Can you fit a mtb bottom bracket in there

Absolutely! Most people do

Thank you man for your nice review! Really appreciate it. I'm 185 cm and my inseam is about 92 cm long, can you help me to decide the bike frame? I'm oriented to choose L size, with 622 cm top tube... Thank you very much!
@johnseip3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I would say it depends on what you ride. The medium is more in line with 90% of the dirt jumpers out there. The long is really long. I like it because I use it for getting air and I enjoy the stability of the bike. For more technical riding, spinning, manuals etc the medium probably more nimble. It’s a trade off nimble vs stability.

@@johnseip Hello John! Thank you so much for your quick response... What I would do with this bike is a little bit different than the common use, I'd like to use it principally for street... a little bit for street trial, bunny hop, 180 and other trick... Less for jump in bike park. I've sold recently my Lapierre hardtail 29" that I used it for trick, it was a little bit struggling make trick with that... I already use a trial bike Onza 24" for trial line. I'm looking for a bike a little bit more Pedalable than a street trial bike but not big such lapierre hardtail 29". But I'm looking for a comfortable bike even for long street and trick session. Is it hard to ask for all this? Probably I need an inspired 26 😅
@johnseip3 жыл бұрын
I would say the specialized p.3 is the most versatile geometry of any bike I’ve had. For street any of the chromoly DJ bikes are pretty good. I had a NS Majesty before this bike and it was waaaay better for street. For street/park any of the NS bikes you can’t go wrong. The Absolut has a lower BB, slacker head tube angle and longer rear all for stability and dirt jumps, speed, berms. Another route for a more pedalable street bike might be 22” BMX.

@@johnseip So probably if I had to choose this bike, commencal absolut, most for trick and street it can be better the M size...? But I'm not sure, because I'd like stability and comfort. I would also like to ride my ideal bike in skate park, and in the city, for long session 🥲 I've been looking for the ideal bike for almost a year... Now i want a new bike, damn! 😁 Have a fantastic day man! Thank you so much for your help.

28 tooth? Seems low. I have 32 on my dj.
@johnseip4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I like it a little easier for skatepark and tech riding. Easier to get up to speed in short distances and better for things like tire-taps without brakes. Also a bigger gear would hit coping more often given the low BB on this frame. 28 tooth barely clears on drop-ins or disaster stalls. That is part of the reason I didn't go with a standard Mtb crank set.
