Question : I'm a residential owner and have one of these that leaks... Going to replace it, very much in the same way illustrated here.. The thing is, for the exact same one it is 500.00, but I see other ones with the same size threads, but more compact for like 277.00... What's the difference ?

You need to get someone certified to test & repair. Your problem most likely is s fouled # 1 check valve. They make repair kits no need to replace. All inside parts are replaceable .
