Wow good to see you keep uploading CB related videos. Your CB interview videos from a couple of years ago helped me landed a CAM role at one of the big five. One day we meet, i will buy you dinner. ;)

This is gold. I’m curious as to how this plays out in Corporate / Mid-Market banking (clients that are in that $300MM+ revenue range). I’ve noticed corporate bankers get paid pretty similarly to investment bankers, however with lower bonuses (40% range versus 80% range). I’ve noticed credit analysts who work on syndicated/ large corporate deals make significantly more than those who do small-to-medium sized transactions. How do you position yourself for a role like that, vs. a more traditional commercial banking role?

Great video, thanks for the information. In your experience/generally, how long does it take to go from credit analyst -> RM-> SRM -> Regional Director?
@financekid31632 жыл бұрын
It depends a lot on circumstance and the size of the bank you are working for. I have seen good RMs climb quickly and get promoted into a Director role, conversely, for higher profile groups and larger markets, it can take a good 5-10 years. It all depends. Thanks for watching.

Hi, i got accepted commercial banking as an intern, but i am wondering how commercial banking stacks up to corporate banking in terms of salary, the work is relatively the same, with corporate banking often pulling off more hours. I'm not sure if i should keep looking for other opportunities (ex. corpbanking at citi) And in your opinion, is commercial banking a good start?

Would you say these salaries would be lower for the US market? Higher? About the same?
@financekid31632 жыл бұрын
Good question. In the main markets for the big banks (ie. NY & BofA), the overall compensation is generally higher. For regional markets working for smaller local lenders like credit unions, the compensation may be lower/equal. Depends a lot on the market for sure.

How do I get into commercial banking? Should I get a degree and apply for a graduate scheme or apply for an assistant RM role with no experience?
@financekid31632 жыл бұрын
Breaking in starts with getting into the bank so yes, applying for a junior analyst or assistant RM role is a good first step. Working on advancing your degree will only get you so far, experience is more important to breaking into a front-office role.

@@financekid3163 Thanks for your reply. How did you get into commercial banking? Did you start on a graduate scheme after uni or did yoi just apply for an entry level assist RM role? Also did you have any experience before getting into commercial banking?
