Not really. Just because you went to bartending school and got your bartender’s license, doesn’t mean it makes it legal for you to start serving drinks out of your garage. You’re required to have a business license to open your own bar, or work at someone else’s licensed bar. How is this any different? You need to either have your own licensed business or work for someone who does.

There are still operations that you can use your commercial certificate for according to 14 CFR 119.1(e). The FAA just doesn’t want any average person to create their own airline, and they want anyone operating as an airline to have stricter standards to ensure passenger safety.

Me too, old VHS. Their videos helped me with PP, Instrument, Commercial, Twin, and CFI and CFII exams. Met them both years ago at a safety seminar at Sun n Fun. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Aviation, the Kings!

I was under the impression that the Air carrier certificate applies to 121 regulation & commercial operating certificate applies to 135 regulation but both were issued under part 119? The video says that they’re issued under each respective part ( 121 & 135 ). Is that actually the case or were they both issued under 119 & just comply with their respective regulations ?

So if a good friend of mine has tickets for all three of us to attend the championship playoff game in downtown Knoxville, TN. They are front row, right at the center, and she paid a lot of money for them. Game time is 6 pm, and we need to get there with plenty of time to spare. She’ll pay for your ticket, and pay me $250 plus the expenses. What would be? I think I can accept the pay as long as it falls under private carriage, and a contract must exist. What's your opinion?

As long as your didnt advertise your service and instead they came to you AND you dont do it on a regularly scheduled basis.

who owns the airplane? are you renting one to fly everybody? if so that's illegal because you had the "willingness to" get paid instead of advertising to the public. it's only legal if she owns the airplane and asks you to fly her. she may give you a long term contract as per part 91. then it's private carriage.
