I just like watching these old ads from the 1970's. It brings back memories to me of growing up in that decade and how I miss those years.

At 24:09, that's singer/actress Ketty Lester. She played Hester Sue on Little House on the Prairie. Watching these old commercials has given me a surprising sense of peace, and I have been instantly transported back to my childhood in the 70s. Thank you.

Ahh Zenith, their corporate/warehouse was VERY close to my house!! My grandpa told me about the company and we would pass it all the time!!! He had a Zenith for YEARS until it finally went kaput! I miss their TVs!! They REALLY lasted

I remember the United Bank Account of California ad ! It was the fall of 1973 , I just started Junior High. My parents bought me a used color TV set and I had it in my room. I was the envy of my peers. Thank you, Rick for bringing back pleasant memories of my late parents!

There's also a program called "Rhapsody in Black".The host Bill Gardner plays a lot of Rhythm and Blues records from the 1940s and 50s. He 's on Saturday afternoon from 2:00pm - 4:00pm. It's on KPFK 90.7 FM. You can go to the station's website because he has programs on for two weeks.

I'm looking for a commercial from the early 1970s for Ex-Lax that was filmed at a zoo. It showed people visiting the zoo that looked like the animals. One lady looked like a llama, and another looked like a giraffe, and it showed her face in extreme close up chewing. We always laughed at it.

Wow haven't seen these since then (except a few that are on compilation dvds) Joan Crawford may have advertised Pan Am but it wasn't exactly a wise choice to fly on. In 1973-74 over a span of just nine months they had four fatal crashes resulting in large losses of life (plus one bombed by terrorists that killed 36 people) Aviation had a lot to learn in the 1970s and in the 1980s as well. Of all the new TV shows shown here that premiered only one--Police Story--would survive long term (Barnaby Jones actually premiered mid-season in January, 1973 & ran seven years) Almost 29,000 VW Things were built in the 1973 and 1974 combined model years. There's still some out there but I'll always prefer the Beetle or Karmann Ghia.

I think you mean "rogue" (pronounced "rowg"). "Rouge" (pronounced "roozhe") is what blusher used to be called, and it's the French word for "red". A "rouge" militia is much less of a threat than a "rogue" militia. 😎

The VW Thing was essentially an updated WWII German "Kubelwagen" or "Bucket Car". I actually saw one of these "Things" around 2015 at a car show.
