Commlite Updated Electronic Auto-Focus Canon ef to M43 adapter

Update: I've done a little research and it seems that the adapater will only work with a metal mount. As my 10-18mm has a plastic mount it wouldn't work. I've tried two other lenses (Canon 24mm f/2.8 stm and 17-55mm f/2.8) and the adapter works spot on with those.
I purchased a Commlite auto focus Canon to Micro Four Thirds adapter to mount my Canon glass to my Olympus Pen-f micro four thirds camera. I test out the:
Canon 10-18mm stm lens
Canon 50mm f/1.8 stm lens
Canon 85mm f/1.8 USM lens

For the first clip the 10-18mm lens the camera was on mf not af. That may be why it failed

it wouldn't go to AF unfortunately and kept setting to MF.

Not all STM lens will works with adapter.

hi ,i have this adapter too, but AF doesnt work,it just remains blocked, all my lenses act the same i have a 50 mm 1.8 STM , SIGMA 80-400 ,Canon 18-55 mm and they all dont work, maybe my settings are wrong ,the olympus is new too, is a Olympus omd em 10, i just got it and dont really know how to use it but s-af was activated, only manual focus works so the camera can take a shot and wont be ”bricked”

I bought Commlite CM-AEF-MFT(B) Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Micro Four Thirds Electronic Autofocus Lens Adapter Mount Camera for Panasonic GH cameras - I had an 18-300mm for my Canon SL2 - connected to my G7 - autofocus does not work. Av and Tv work fine. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Some setting I need to change in my G7 to allow this adapter to work? Must I always touch the screen to focus?

I haven't used it with that lens however I believe it struggles with lenses with plastic mounts and not sure if the 18-300 has a metal or plastic mount. Other than that I'm not sure why it won't focus with a focus button.

Here is what I just did to test out the adapter rather than give up on it and send it back to Amazon - I bought a Tamron 18-400mm lens for Canon APS-C (for my SL2) and put THAT onto my Commlite adapter - mounting the Tamron to the adapter was a bit snug/difficult and used a little extra force to get it to seat. Then I placed the adapter back onto the G7. This combination WORKED perfectly. Your theory might be correct regarding the plastic vs. metal ring on the lenses. The Tamron seems to be better quality than the Sigma lens.
