Now that the other faster Minoltas like the 50, 55, and 58 1.4's are creeping up in price, the 55m 1.7 is an absolute steal, and is simply perfection stopped down to 5.6. Which we all know we need to use a lot more than we do 1.4. Too bad I can't post a shot I took. There is simply nothing the image is lacking in.

The Minolta Celtic 135 2.8 is excellent..and Very cheap..get a fine copy, stop down a bit, and you will be knocked out. I mean knocked out. Something to remember about the 58mm 1.4 Rokkor..on APSC it becomes an 87mm 1.4. I hope that sinks in.

I got this lens for free from a Indonesian red barret who wanted me to use his old stuff. Sadly he probably already sold the Leica and X-700 he had with it. I am now using it on my Fujifilm XM-1 but I also have a A7 that I need to buy a MD-NEX adapter for. What is that battery grip by the way. my main complaint is the batter usage of the A7.

hi ,i have this adapter too, but AF doesnt work,it just remains blocked, all my lenses act the same i have a 50 mm 1.8 STM , SIGMA 80-400 ,Canon 18-55 mm and they all dont work, maybe my settings are wrong ,the olympus is new too, is a Olympus omd em 10, i just got it and dont really know how to use it but s-af was activated, only manual focus works so the camera can take a shot and wont be ”bricked”

Hi Howie ! Quick question.. this might sound dumb but what focusing mode were you using ? Last time I used my trip 35, when taking up close portraits, I used the nearest focusing point but they all came out blurry. I'm very new to film photography so any tips would be great !
@mudgie069
@mudgie069 Жыл бұрын
I'm guessing you were maybe closer than the minimum focusing distance which is 1 meter. Anything closer than 1 meter will come out blurry due to the minimum focus distance of 1 meter which is just over 3 feet. Other than that I'm not sure why they would come out blurry sorry. Hopefully this helps.

Parallax problem can be solved by a tripod with a middle section; after focusing, rise the middle section for 6,5 cm ( 2.6 inches), mark the distance with a marker. Get yourself the 55 mm wide angle and the 180 mm Super Sekor. A cable release can be used. A porroflex gives the same comfort as a prisma finder. Some have an inbuild CDS. Foma film and Adox films are cheap and good. Street photography with Fuji BW 1600 ISO; developed in Rodinal. This camera is superior to a Hasselblad and a Rolleiflex. Mine survived tumbling down the stairs into the engine room of the. Hook of Holland - Harwich ferry Never a problem since I got it in 1975. Be smart and make 13 exp. with a 120 film, by rotating one turn of the wining knop, plus switching to dubble exposure. No quality difference between the Sekor 55 mm and the Zeiss 50 mm Distagon. Forget digital, go Mamiya. A 120 film makes 12 (13) art prints.

Be careful not to tilt the camera upward or downward when you use the center-column technique, though. If you tilt the camera more than a few degrees, you may get out-of-focus images. That's why Mamiya introduced the "Paramender" attachment 🙂.

For the unenlightened it is good to mention that the Sony A7 is a full-frame camera, and you keep the 58mm angle of view. On my crop-sensor Fujifilm the angle of view becomes about 87mm f/2, which might even be a better portrait length

yes, I just recently looked at one in a camera shop, the tip is, to fire it needs to have the film counter "wound on" to 1 , NOT at S so the cameras interlocks think there is a frame behind the shutter!!- No need for Multi-exposure lever to be moved, ON this camera, on the RB 67 you DO need the multi- exposure system activated ( this disconnects the wind_on drive, allowing the shutter to be cocked, and bypass the winding cycle, as with NO film, this is endless......; so the stop is never reached switching the motion to the shutter cocking 1/2 of the cycle). The aformentioned process is needed for slr style MF cameras, like the bronica ETRS/S/Si and the older Zenza bronica S /S2/C as well as the Rollei SL2000f/SL3000f 35 mm cameras as this double/NO exposure safety system is what is stopping you from shutter release during testing at a store, or, as recommended by manufacturers, to de-cock the leaf shutters, when in storage, saving wear on shutter springs ( main reason for shutter failure, the spring steel gets extended for too long, so looses it's elasticity).
