Great song by a great group. This was after Lionel Richie left the group. This song is a tribute to two great R&B musicians who had passed in 1984 when this was recorded. The Marvin in the first verse is Marvin Gaye, the Jackie in the second verse is Jackie Wilson.

Commodores have a bunch of great music. They were one of the biggest bands of the 70's--80's. "Soul" is where they usually get classified but their sound is all over the place depending on the era. R&B, Disco, Pop. All of it excellent.
