My favorite funk band since 1st time I saw them in 1971 ope ING act for Javkson Five. There I was in front row, with dozen yelliw roses for them, dozen red roses for Michael and his brothers. Great experiences over years going to concerts for them. Lice Lionel Richie's voice..

I used to always watch Dinah Shore, she had the best guests and musical guests. I remember watching this when it aired... I was 12. Around this time, she also had Graham Central Station on singing Your Love. I have no idea why I remember that, maybe because it was a memorable experience perhaps? Lol..

You almost forget sometimes that, Dinah Shore, was a GREAT PROPONENT OF "THE FUNK!"❤❤❤❤❤

She was like Mike Douglas an equal opportunity employer.

That's true... she had great RnB artists on, a lot. What folks don't know is that she had a grandparent that was black... not sure who's side it was on.

When you watch the Commodores live, you just have to love how all of the members get involved in the showmanship and entertainer part of performing. I also love the platform shoes, and if you ever saw a dick Clark next to Lionel Richie when he’s wearing platform shoes, you just got a laugh.

this is not live, it is actually lip sync like most performances on these type of shows. Watch no improvisation

Dinah Shore and Mike Douglas might seem milquetoast mayonnaise, but they were pretty freewheeling when it came to guests, especially for afternoon shows aimed at Middle America housewives.

Good point, cant front on this especially when Commodores were still primarily a funk band at this time

@@Gdub52o Thank you. Well said. There is and was a dress within the general culture and it did segment out across musical genre. The same way rap culture dresses a certain way and grunge culture dressed and metal, ect. People think in a vacuum too much. Never think pass what they see considering other factors. You looking at a 40 plus year old video and you never consider the culture?

@@RepentOrPerishL133 I definitely think the outfits and stage persona add to this a million times over and make it that much more entertaining and that's coming from a 26 year old
