Great video guys. Here in Canada colour hardened concrete is the only stamp finish that will hold up to the extreme elements we have. 30 degree temp Flux. -40 to +35

is there a video that explains and shows exact moment for applying color hardener
@DecoCreteTV2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! The exact moment when the color hardener gets applied can verry a bit from job to job, but the easy answer would be to start throwing the hardener as soon as you can. On most jobs, someone needs to be applying the hardener while the rest of crew pours the slab. I'll leave a link to another video that goes over the entire process. Can you put this on very old cement floor if you wet it first? How long does the colour hardener will last on the floor?
@DecoCreteTV Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment!!! Color hardener is only for freshly poured concrete. You have to work it into the surface before the concrete has set-up. If used properly, it will last for the entire life of the concrete slab. If you're looking to resurface an old slab or floor, the best thing would a concrete overlay. We have a few different options to chose from, I'll leave a link to the overlay page on our website and the Concrete Overlay playlist on our KZbin channel. How firm must the concrete be would you say (by pressing with your fingers) before you begin stamping it? Also, how soon after concrete is placed, rodded off, and bull floated before you apply color hardner? Also also can you do this in temperatures in the 50's and if so, how does that change the method? Please answer. No one will give me answers
@DecoCreteTV4 жыл бұрын
If you are pouring at a 4" slump you can throw it right after you bull float. Cold temps shouldn't affect this.

Hi, is there a way to fix the color hardner mistakes. I think i didn't put enough or something and there are patches where the concrete's original color seems to be showing :(

Hey. Do you use a light gray release with a beige hardner?
@DecoCreteTV2 жыл бұрын
Light gray is fine on light beige colors. A good rule to follow is that you always want your release color to be darker than your base color. Thanks for watching!

Hi, thanks for the upload I learned some stuff from your tips on the color broadcasting. I wanted to ask you if I can brush finish the concrete using the color instead of using the pattern molds. I have a job to do and they want it brush finished with the concrete looking a mid grey color. My question is will it work on brush finish? Thanks again..Chris

how do you get the color out to a spot you can’t reach, let’s say you have a 25’ span, how do you get it out that far?
@DecoCreteTV2 жыл бұрын
Someone with experience can throw color hardener 15-20ft max. If it's further than that, you would need to break it into 2 pours, or consider getting a color spreader. www.colorspreader.com/

@@DecoCreteTV so if you are pouring a 1,000sq/ft patio that is stamped you say break it up into two pours?
@DecoCreteTV2 жыл бұрын
We recommend that in most cases anything 1000sq/ft and over to do two pours. However, with a large enough crew and the right circumstance you could do it all in one pour, but that would be a rare situation.

Just order the concrete with color mixed in it. I done hardener before and I hated it. Mess and working harder.
@DecoCreteTV4 жыл бұрын
Advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. The surface of color hardener stamped concrete is nearly twice as hard as integral. Also, color hardener makes patching and color matching super easy in the event of mistakes or multiple pours. There is a reason it works so well!

Why do the addner peals off after some month
@DecoCreteTV6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! If the color hardener is peeling off, then something must have gone wrong during the installation. It would usually come from not working it into the surface properly. Maybe from applying too much at a time, not working it in soon enough, or maybe the concrete was already too hard before the hardener was applied. If done properly, the hardener should not peel up. I'll leave a link to our full how-to video on color hardener below. Thanks for watching Deco-Crete TV!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnPFoHZ8Zd2VgNU

If all color hardener consists of it silica , Portland and pigment, can I apply straight Portland and silica sand mixture to my freshly floated concrete to density surface? Pretty much color hardener without the color?
@andyhuang3734 жыл бұрын
However the color is also an important part of floor hardener,it can strengthen the basic concrete in a way,and protect the concrete for a long term use,if you want to remain an original color,than you can add iron oxide black and titanium dioxide(white color) to keep have a cement like color.Hope this can help you.

Why are these guys using their hands??? Use a brush and dust it on.. much more uniform finish.. it also looks like they are putting too much on… if you have it to thick, you’ll get uneven stamping..
