What do you think of using a roller tamper just before throwing on colour hardner
@DecoCreteTV Жыл бұрын
We've never used a roller tamper/jitterbug roller, so I can't speak from experience on this one. That being said, I know some people love them for stamped concrete. I don't think it would make much of a difference for the color hardener itself, but it does make sense for the stamping. Either way, you would need to run the roller before throwing the hardener if you decide to try it. I don't see any downside to one of those for the color hardener. Thanks for watching Deco-Crete TV!!!

We are doing a sidewalk. The store is recommending just the color release but i have seen color harrdener recommended. We plan to use the slate stamp. I have also read to use color hardener then color release to stamp. Do you need a release with color hardener alone?
@DecoCreteTV Жыл бұрын
Color hardener is not a release, only a colorant. You still need a release agent for your stamps. If you are doing this sidewalk yourself, or your contractor is not familiar with color hardener, we would recommend integral color if you are going to color your concrete. Using color hardener is an advanced technique and requires some experience. You can use antique release with uncolored concrete, but we would recommend dark grays or black color as others will not look natural with gray concrete.

Can color harden can use as powder release?
@DecoCreteTV Жыл бұрын
Color hardener is for coloring the concrete only. It would not work as a release agent. Thanks for watching!!!

I have done many interior floors with colo hardener but my local ready mix plant always said never use color hardener on air entrained concrete. I like the color consistency if doing more then i pour.
@DecoCreteTV9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! We've heard that from ready-mix suppliers as well. However, around 95% of the color hardener we sell gets used on air-entrained concrete and we've never seen any issues when it comes to the air content! It's always a good idea to listen to your ready-mix supplier, but in this case, we've just seen it cause any problems. Thanks for watching Deco-Ceret TV!!!

Why use a wood or resin bull float vs. magnesium for larger areas?
@DecoCreteTV Жыл бұрын
Great question!! The resin or wooden floats just leave the surface a little more open than magnesium, and it'll except the color hardener better. They also create more friction when floating the hardener in, rather then the mag floats just gliding over it. This doesn't matter as much on small areas that you can get to by hand. It's not that mag floats won't work on larger slabs, the resin floats just make things easier. Thanks for watching & leaving the comment 👍

Is neaesarythe powder release
@DecoCreteTV Жыл бұрын
Yes, it would still be necessary to use a release agent to stamp the concrete. You could use powder or liquid release. Thanks for watching!!!
