This video is so relevant to what I have been experiencing lately. I’m 5’, maybe 5’1” if I push it and I have started taking a picture each morning of my outfit. To my surprise, I am cut in half with my jeans and then a button down shirt on top. I’m a little thick around the middle with thin hips and thighs and don’t like the tuck or half tuck look. Maybe it just a matter of getting the eye used to tucking in again. This morning I had navy pants, a closer fitting print tee, and a short light colored denim jacket, it gave me much better proportions. I think taking a picture is key! Love all your videos and learn something new with each one.

I like the idea of taking your hair into consideration. I'm petite and my hair is big. Pulling it back when wearing a looser top is a great tip! Also, the idea of taking a blazer that is longer and knowing how to make it work is very useful. As a petite, I can't always find clothes in the desired length.

Very helpful. Makes total sense. Love your style. I think I have a similar style. The only item I probably won't purchase is a blazer. I've had them in the past and they just hang in my closet. Great video. Watching your videos has vastly improved my thoughts about styling outfits. I think I forgot about styling after the pandemic years.. Now, I'm in the process of going through my vast collection of clothes, sorting, and organizing, so that I can see what I own. When my closet is really full, I lose track of what I own. A disorganized closet is a big obstacle that I'm not motivated to "fix." Now, I'm eager to pare down my closet and me see my options. Thanks.

Yes I really enjoyed this! I hope you do more videos like this. It really helps to visualize what you're describing and to see the changes and improvements and the before and afters. Also seeing your body in the slim outfit was helpful because you've talked about being the inverted triangle but I never noticed it because you balance it so well. It helps me understand a little better what you've been trying to tell us. My body type is so different. I'm an overweight hourglass with slim calves, short waist, large bust and long legs so balance has always been a struggle and belts look ridiculous. Putting together outfits is such a struggle. I actually like tunic length tops with skinny jeans or leggings. Wide leg pants or flares look best with short close fitting tops. Capris don’t look good on anyone in my opinion, it cuts us off at the calf and makes everyone look short and dumpy!

Very good tips and the way you demonstrated the changes was really easy to follow. You used belts a couple of times to great effect. I would love a video on how to wear belts, please! I am petite but evenly proportioned (neither long nor short waisted) - I am never quite sure what width or color belt to wear to keep my legs looking long. With all the belt widths, styles and colors out there, it gets very confusing and I am sure many people just give up on belts - yet they are a great accessory as you showed.

Jamie I’ve never heard anyone discuss this but it’s something I struggle with. Everyone recommends and talks about a “ third layer” which typically is a blazer, a cardigan ( long and short) or a jacket of some type. My problem is, other than a standard button down with a collar ( which I never wear or feel comfortable in) I simply don’t know what type of top to wear under the third layer. It’s mostly the necklines that don’t look right to me. Maybe it’s just complicated and physique dependent🤷♀️I have a few blazers which I also NEVER wear….I’m really awful about knowing what to wear with what. Are there any “ rules” about what to ear under a third layer?

I just put a pair of cropped pants in 10 in my car for the thrift store. They look horrible on me in any outfit combination. They just look like they’re too short for me. I’m 5 foot seven and there just was no way to put this together. It might be just me but I just can’t. Now if it was warmer weather and you rolled them up once or twice and had a cute shoe on yeah, that would be good.

I just never wear tunic-length tops or sweaters, they’re so unflattering. A tunic top with capri pants is the most dated, aging look I see on women my age. I’m not slim, nor do I gave a defined waist or flat tummy, but I always tuck in my tops or wear waist-length ones, it’s so much more flattering to show the waistline and full leg length. If not, the legs look short and stumpy and the torso big and boxy.
