Okay, can we all just take a minute and recognize what it sound like its being said in that "conversation"? The part where he says, " Exams, work, my girlfriend can be f*cking crazy." lmao I seriously could not stop my self from laughing when I heard that.

When you talk you can also avoid to use the adjective "buon" and say just "giorno" or "sera" or "notte" Then the phrase "come stanno" isn't wrong, but you'll never heard someone say that, rater "come state"; in the same way is better if you say "scusate signori" rather than "scusino signori"

5:08 scusino, signori Is that for group of men or it's for women and men? Is there any form for "you all" but more formal? For example, to say something to all your colleagues (women and men).
@jeffrichied45212 жыл бұрын
In the lesson, you say “Non ne parliamo” but in the example you add “nemmeno”. Why is nemmeno added? When I Google translate nemmeno, it says “neither”. Could you clarify? Thanks! And loving the videos!!
@bubish6942 жыл бұрын
Generally "nemmeno" means "neither/not even (this or that)"; in this case "nemmeno" is added for negative emphasis and as written in the video it means just "not even". So for example: A) How are you? Come stai? B) Let's not talk about it! Non ne parliamo! A) How are you? Come stai? B) Let's not EVEN talk about it! Non ne parliamo NEMMENO!

@RigoVids2 жыл бұрын
3:15 just to clarify, is the gender incorrect? You use both Lei and chiama, but have "sir" written as the translation. The italian sentence is talking to someone who is female, so sir would not apply in this case, it would be Miss, or "lady"
@bubish6942 жыл бұрын
Nope, it's correct :) In Italian we have something called "dare del Lei" meaning, literally, "giving the She" to someone. It's a formal way of addressing someone older than you, someone you don't know, by referring to them in the 3rd person feminine. Same applies to Dave's example: "What's your name, sir?" in formal Italian becomes "(Lei) Signore, come si chiama?" and I'm putting the "she/lei" in parenthesis because in Italian you can omit specifying the subject, how a phrase is constructed and how the verbs are conjugated make the subject obvious - in this case saying "come si chiama" implies 3rd person.
