The problem I have with Tyler Perry is that he only make negative moves he never make positive movies about black people all ways negative why can't he make boy meet girl kind of movies or a action movie like bad boys 🤔 you know how mush that movie made if he wants to write and don't want other writers that's fine just make positive movies you all ways giving the white people something to talk about negative!! Remember you are representing black people..

It was so good I enjoyed it. I feel like some people didn’t because the violence wasn’t on full display people wanted to see Cory beat Meg up and stomp her out, but Tyler was protecting them both from the backlash from type casting or treating Cory like an abuser in real life or people seeing Meg with bloody bruises. He is smart and protecting us from “them”👀

People are not accustomed to change and indeed this movie was a change from Tyler’s normal movies. Tyler Perry don’t worry about the naysayers because this shows you have the ability to be diverse in your creativity. Looking forward to the next movie.

Different strokes for different folks. It just didn't make sense to me. Who goes an hour and a half to bury a family member. I thought the main characters didn't have money. But they had money so why couldn't they pay for the brothers funeral? The new love interest was creepy stalker who somehow after one night of drinking the woman is like let's do the nasty. It was just all kinds of weird. Just hire black writers and maybe let some black directors in your studio.

@@dianep6791 I agree with you. I liked WA in the beginning, then all of his movies had the same vibe. TP is falling into the same trap. Sophia Coppola must be doing something different, because you can't tell it's a SC movie unless you read the credits. Divorce In the Black was ok, but by the middle, it felt like he got tired of trying to write the script and rushed to complete it. High Brow Black Folks is a compliment to many people because it means they have quality standards and expectations. He has said he "writes for a certain demographic". That's an insult to me. I'm happy about his success. However, I am a "High Brow Negro". LOL

Wow, I just searched your name b/c I recently watched the ep w/ you, Toya & the guy whose name I can't recall, in which you three discussed "Divorce In The Black". I remember you all calling it _"interesting"._ 🤭 I searched to find that ep so I can comment the following, and I see _this_ title, so...choosing to leave it here, instead: I'm presently paused 8 mins into the film, and the Bertrand matriarch in that scene is seriously giving me same *TERRIFYING vibes that Mabel King as "Evillene" did‼(She scared me **_so much_** as a kid.)* 😨💯😱 I wonder if he (and _she,_ the actress) was/were inspired by the great Mabel King's performance(s) in that role. The actress portraying Bertrand matriarch even _physically resembles_ Evillene in the film. Now, back to my regular scheduled program...

People know how to tear other people apart!! Tyler Perry's movie was not that bad, I've definitely seen worse. People have nothing to say about anything when Hollywood makes a movie depicting us in a not so bright light. At least he is paying actors a decent wage. Also, some actors have gotten their career break because of Tyler Perry.

I did like Divorce in the Black, and I'm not crazy about TP movies. The plays I love FR

I believe one person Tyler is referring to is... Spike Lee! For many years, Lee has been very critical of Perry's movies. Spike doesn't care for none of Tyler's movies AT ALL!

I don’t blame Tyler Perry. These people are just out to break him. They need to do something with their own life.

Southwest needs to leave things as is. Red eye flights are good. But leave the rest alone.

Hey Patty! 👋🏾 As far as Common, as the saying goes "if 'if' was a fifth, we'd all be drunk." Sounds like hyperbole and question dodging to me. I'm not gonna hold my breath. I just pray he doesn't dog our good sis Jennifer, cuz he has set himself up to be for the streets. I am OVER THE MOON for tomorrow when the Olympics start!!! 😃😃😃 And Tyler can go to blazes with all that. It's highbrow to expect a good plot, characters with depth and wigs that don't look like a run over possum's ass? 🤨 Sir you're a billionaire who can afford to pay good writers and a great wardrobe/styling staff. Please stop.
