This is called palatalization, and I hear native speakers do that with other letters in stressed syllables, like "d" in "endure" (which sounds like "injure" but with the stress on the second syllable).

You definitely should make a video on when the letter Y can be either a vowel or a consonant cause depending on which word the letter Y shows up, it can be pronounced different ways acting like a vowel or a consont. shY , babY, mYth , mYRtle , martYR , Yellow, Yolk, bUY , bOY, grAY , kEY.

The difference is quite subtle, I can hardly distinguish them with my ears.

I would say that at least in British English in words like "accumulate" we may say "u (yu)" after m as well as shwa though learners may benefit by pronouncing it with shwa as it's the less obvious way which may be hard to understand if unaware of.
