I recommend using the built-in backup feature in Lightroom Classic to backup your catalog, which includes options for error-checking and optimizing the catalog. That backs up the data about your photos. And then I recommend using a synchronization solution such as GoodSync (timgrey.me/greybackup) to backup the source photo files.
