Absolute beginner here. Was so disappointed in my iPhone & its focus - or lack of it, after visiting Costa Rica, I thought I’d need a proper camera for our next holiday. After watching several different utube videos on the Sony A74, it left me more confused & stressed out than ever! Had I bitten off more than I could chew? Well, yes! … until I just came across this beaut of a tutorial! Michael, you’ve saved me weeks, probably months of cross referencing different clips from different utubers & head scratching! You explain everything so clearly & in a way I can understand. You take your time & don’t rush. This is amazing! I honestly can’t thank you enough for taking the time to show me how my new camera works. You’d make a great school teacher! 👏👏👏👏👏 👍

Will receive my A7iv and 85mm 1.4 in 3 days. I own a sony rx100 vii and video corespons with like 80%. I will be ordering the crash course. I love the way you take your time and teach. Other videos just rush though the information so fast that I can barely keep up let alone learn anything. So thank. Can't wait to get started with the Crash Course.

Michael, Great overview of the Sony A7 IV. I’ve been doing photography since the early 1960’s and often teach classes on the subject in my community. I watched your entire video and learned a lot of details I had not fully understood in the past - even with all my experience. Great job. It allowed me to set up my custom components thoroughly and easily.

Thanks Michael for your video. This has been very helpful since I just received the Sony A7 IV this week. I have been a lifelong Nikon user (selling all my gear now). I was comfortable with the Nikon D500 & 200-500mm lens for wildlife. Great camera, but I wanted to do more with video and the D500 was not great for video (especially auto focus). The Sony A7 IV seems to be a perfect hybrid. This is certainly going to be a transition, but very impressed thus far. I purchased a kit lens for now (28-60mm) along with the 200-600mm lens. Again, thanks for your time and effort in making this video. Great job.

@@michaelandrew5209 Thanks for asking. I am obviously becoming more and more familar with the Sony now. Awesome pictures along with the fast autofocus is just incredible. And my next challenge is video. I have not spent much time in that arena yet. I would love to have had this camera/lens setup when I was shooting at dance recitals from the balcony of my daughters years ago. I was reading somewhere that lens filters may distort photos with some Sony lens. Not sure if true or not. Do you shoot with or without filters? Thanks again Michael

Hello. Just bought A7IV with a 2470gm2... but also you videos (those 4 parts). I'm checking them... one doubt is what burst speed is optimal so that autofocus can manage fast moving objects. I notice that in HI+ Camera struggles to autofocus correctly. Seems to be focus issue and not blur. Seems that the shit is taken a little after focus is set

I have this model of the camera on the way so I would like to know it 'A' to 'E' mount adapter SONY LA-EA5, would work on this camera the same way as it does on A7R IV, A6600 and A1? I'm a biased Canon user and I finally received my A7IV with 200-600G last week. I also have the kit lens and an old FD35mm Canon lens with adaptor. Had A7III in 2018 and hated it sold it after 5 months. Giving Sony another chance since things improved. So far so good for wildlife and BIF but even with the shutter curtain down (battery out to discharge the sensor) body facing down when swapping lenses I still get dust on the sensor. This is horrible as I also do some video and mostly at small aperture F11-F22 with the 200-600 when in the field. My Canon R6 has 1 medium dust spot in about a year. Its a great system and love the new native Sony GM lenses but this dust thing is killing me. Every KZbin video out there with dust spots I can almost guarantee it was shot with a Sony. Not everybody has the skill not to smudge the sensor. I tried cleaning the A7III when I owned it but I just couldn't see the dust spots and ended up coming back from a 3 week European vacation with spots all over most of my videos. Photos I can clean up but videos not so much. Any suggestions. I know if I aim at the sky at F16 or a bright bulb and check for spots but sometimes its hard to see on the back of the LCD and did not have a laptop with me. We do travel a lot (well not now) but this is an issue. When I was in Iceland I swapped many lenses on Canon and if you been on the south east side its super windy and still my sensor stayed clean. Please help.

Tell me how you are cleaning your sensor manually?
@tekguyphoto
@tekguyphoto 2 жыл бұрын
@@MMaven I only use the blower. I refuse to clean it because I dont have the skill and I did mess up a Sony A6300 in the past. I smudged the sensor using some sensor cleaning it with fluids and no matter what I could not clean up and make it better. With the Canon R6 I dont have to touch the sensor the odd puff here and there and my older Canon R I also only used the blower and it was fine for over a year. Canon has the sensor shake mechanism during turn on / off which I'm sure helps where Sony I have to do it manually.

Thanks for the video. Do you know why the distortion compensation is greyed out? And do the lens corrections also effect the RAW files?

what is the difference between the crash course for purchase and the tutorial training on YTube. Where can I get the 30% discount you mentioned?

The KZbin video deals with the operations of the camera only. The Crash Course is the techniques, mindset and implementation in the real world shooting. The discount is currently reflected in the $39.99 price. It will go up to $59.99 shortly. Thanks!
