Common Mistakes with English ADJECTIVES 👉🏼 -ed and -ing endings

In this lesson we are going to look at pairs of adjectives that end with -ed and -ing
There are many English adjectives that have two forms - one that ends in -ed and one that ends in -ing
An adjective that ends in -ing is used to describe: the characteristic of a person, a thing or a situation.
For example: It is amazing, it is interesting, it is boring.
An adjective that ends in -ed is used to describe: a feeling or an emotion. It is used to describe a temporary thing.
If you say that something (or someone) is boring, that thing (or person) makes you feel bored!

Hi Emma, great to be with you after a real lapse. Aren't these 'Participial Adjectives'? Your take on these adjectives is absolutely correct, but what if they are used as we use normal ones to restrict nouns and pronouns, like 'a burning question', and 'a burnt paper' or 'a burning paper, and the difference between these two types of participial adjectives is very much evident in their forms, aren't they? I'd love to watch on my point on your next vid on the subject. Till then, take care.

The only question is, why didn't anyone explain this to me when I was learning English in school? And next question is, who translate to me this perfect Australian pronunciation and what roots underlies of happens.

Every time I watch your English learning videos, I fix all my attention to your mouth and your tongue and how you use them to pronounce things..It's AMAZING..I mean as a non-native English teacher I can speak English myself but I can never ever use my tongue the way you do...How can I improve my tongue movement while speaking English? Any suggestions, plz?? Thanks a lot!👍👍👍

as some one who doesn't study grammar regularly, this bugs me for years. I thought ed is always used in indication of tenses, but in some cases it doesn't, I just got on with it, but never did I understand the reasoning behind. I wouldn't know it's a suffix to make a verb into adjective if not for this video, thanks a lot
