Myna is a small bird found in all parts of India. The Indian bird #Myna is very cute agile and has a very sharp clear voice. The myna birds live in tree hollow i.e. Kotar in Hindi language. These birds are lively, social and wonderfully outgoing type birds . As young birds they are easily tamed. They are very active and enjoy hopping around. Myna birds are omnivorous. In the jungle they eat all types of fruits found in jungle like mango papaya banana, insects, larva, amphibians, baby bird , baby rodents , small snakes, lizards eggs and they scavenge the garbage in this way. Wild myna is not a seed eater. When as a pet or living in residential areas it eat cooked rice, bread pieces, Sattu pellets, cooked Dal, hard boiled eggs and all other soft foods also. if the baby bird is 2 or 3 weeks old it can be given mashed banana, papaya, chiku s well insects like grasshoppers, crickets and caterpillars. The common myna can live in habitats like open country, cultivated land, in nooks and eaves of houses ,under roofs, in holes in walls and in tree hollows also. The mother bird brings food for the babies till they learn to fly out of the tree hollow. The young ones of Myna are called fledgling when reach one month age . At this time the babies start flying and for another fifteen days to one month they live with the parents being fed occasionally and learning to find food for themselves. In the evening the Myna gather in large flocks to roost generally on banyan tree🌳. The time of arrival at the roost starts before sunrise and ends just after sunset.
The common indian myna can mimic the human voice. They have memory of hundred words to remember if taught to speak and repeatedly said to them. The sound of Myna is a screeching sound
