You should disable eco-mode, my mercedes mechanic told me that it puts great pressure on the transmission chain each time it restarts, for a very limited petrol saving. I also had the wheel speed sensor issue, twice. And it costs around 350€ to get both replaced, twice (in a 5 years period). Appart from that, no major issue.

Leaving eco mode on if you drive slow and constant mph. I am at 176k miles and bought the car at 91.5k miles. It is working just fine. Only time for sport is for passing vehicle.

#11 -- Seat belt buckle. The wire that provides the signal to the SRS controller when the seatbelt is latched breaks. The solution is to replace the buckle. Search KZbin on how to replace the buckle. This was a problem with the W203, as well. The symptom is that the airbag light comes on. After replacing the buckle, you need a proper Mercedes scanner, such as the LAUNCH Creader Elite 2.0 BENZ, to clear the airbag code.

You got those problem even with low miles honest i am shocked because i have the w204 since Nov 2018 First issue i had was just the radio didn't had the sound right after i got the car the dealer fixed the issue by simply changing the bad fuse 2nd was the fog lights were bad i had to replace the whole thing including lamp and bulbs 3rd was the serpentine belt snaping right after visiting for a food pickup , i had to take the car without the belt which was really bad since that cause the issue for the steering pump being leaked and i learned that on Mercedes even a serpentine belt must be OEM So i replaced the serpentine belt with OEM Parts then after 2 days car was just roaring like a truck way to home , right after that i tried to start the car but it didn't start after few attempts my friend jumped start the car and white smoke was coming i though car's engine might blown up but it was the steering pump leaking fluid and i had to tow the car and got it replaced also did replace all the pulleys which was bought all in 1 kit . i got the part from a aftermarket brand and the car's steering was so bad and heavy i had to replace the part with OEM part which i bought from a Mercedes Benz Wholesale website which were very good and amazing price , then i replaced the thermostat my self because of a check engine which was easy job. after few months like 2 year i had the smell from the cabin like a burning smell which was there even car was good , my friend finds out it was a steering hose and main seal and then it was also the oil cooler assembly which got bad just for that stupid serpentine belt . so i got it replace all of them and pcv valve which was good price . during that i also replaced the engine mounts and transmission mounts just to be safe . having a used Mercedes Benz is very challenging since it was my first car and to be honest some of the issue i fixed myself . i replace the thermostat, spark plugs , engine intake hose , side mirrors blinkers , interior parts like trims , recently i had bad struts and got them replaced . but now car is really good and not giving me problems despite having 136k miles after 5 years of usage not too bad. got my self a 2023 Toyota Camry se 2 years ago everything is good but it doesn't give the joy of Benz . The stupid Windshield glass was so weak but expensive for a Japanese car .

You are best to get the wax or oil protection. Something like fluid film and give it a good coating because the rust will not only be confined to the rear subframe. Get the car on a ramp and get all the plastic covers off. Almost the whole underside is covered. You maybe shocked at what you reveal. Even the wheel arch liners are hiding all sorts of nastiness. Look out for brake pipes too. These rot in places where they cannot be seen by your mot tester. Same with the subframe. Mercedes have said they are going to continue replacing subframes on all cars under 20 years old. I haven't heard of any refusals of this warranty work. But no point replacing the subframe is there is nothing left to bolt it to!

Over two years for a complicated machine £596 is nothing come on, you said how long battery had lasted, airbag problems with most cars as used Takata airbags I believe (as did millions of other car manufacturers)many are not common problems, my 2012 C Class coupe has not had most of your problems, drop link takes a hammering on all cars and fail over time, I had mine done at 86K mikes (about 138K, KM) yes rear sub frame is a problem, but like airbags free replacement by Mercedes, again not affecting mine, or 4 others I know, no one has ever had a fuel leak problem, it does depend how well your car has beeb looked after and used !! A friend has a BMW drop link airbag problem and cam shaft sensor failure, happens to most cars, don’t say common faults as they are not, I worked in the garage trade, random is not common, Audi the worst in my experience.

I have the wheel speed sensor error, I checked with OBD and also with the secret menu, it's the rear right. I replaced it, and deleted the error code. The error comes back. I noticed if I drive very slow, (walking speed), all four sensors show a reading in the menu. Only after I speed up the rear right shows zero. Could it be the magnetic ring, on the hub? If it is, it seems like a big job, the part is cheap, not sure if I should attempt it myself. Any thoughts?
@mattgreba6 ай бұрын
@paulthilwind8492 Sounds like the abs ring. If you never changed the brake discs it might take you a while. There's plenty youtube videos on how to do it though. Before you do that I would try to double check the ring. Get a q tip and put it in the wheel speed sensor area to clean from any dirt or grease. Then get a phone camera in there when you spin the hub and record if there's anything obvious you could see so you can have 100% that's it's abs ring. You will see if it's damaged. Good luck
