How can the gain be evaluated this easily? It seems as if this overlooks resistance introduced by the MOSFET itself.

why did you make the last gain equation so hard? its just a simple small signal calculation. is there a reason you did it like that?

hi, the Id is not exactly the value for saturation current. There are non linear terms to it. That is why gm is non linear value.
